We need criminal felony legislation for owners of this breed!!

I sincerely believe dog owners should be held criminally liable for the vicious acts of these animals. With such legislation we will see a much more responsible owner with a well behaved animal. If not, then legisation is needed that allows them to be shot on sight upon entering your space!!

I agree. If you can't control your pet, then you should face the consequences of its actions.
In the same vein, the parents of minor age children should face the consequences of their offspring's actions. Especially, in the cases of violent crimes. They are your responsibility. Therefore, you should be responsible for their actions.

If this were put forth as a bill, people would yell and scream saying how racist it is….doing this would show how racist they actually are by connecting violent crimes only with black or minority people. The hypocrisy would be:

I don't care if it is a Pittie, a Corso, a Pug or a Chihuahua. If your dog attacks someone and you were negligent, you should be held liable for damages. BTW, Chihuahuas are MEAN little bastards. Far more so than most Pitties. Corsos are MUCH more dangerous than Pitties, and MUCH more likely to attack a stranger.
But you seem to be arguing for some sort of strict liability, based upon breed. This will seem harsh, but that is just brain-dead stupid. There are aggressive bloodlines and docile bloodlines in every breed, plus a LOT of it has to do with environment and training. "Strict liability" based upon breed is just foolishness.'
My baby boy (20 months) is an American Bulldog, and he looks a lot like this fellow (just younger). Because they are (distantly) related breeds, people mistake him for a Pittie all the time. He is an 80-pound teddy bear who lies in my lap to watch TV.

If you can't control the animal, you're the problem. those dog's need to be disposed of and the owners held liable. I don't care what breed.
Hawg hunters who are running other peoples property, beware, I will shoot your lead dog and wait for you to show up in camp to retrive them and the collar.

Statistics on vicious dog attacks are interesting. They have distinct patterns. It goes like this:
No. 1 ... Pit Bulls
Very very large gap here. No one is close to Pit Bulls
No. 2-5 (almost tied)
Rottweilers
German Shepherds
Chows
Doberman
After that you're getting into very low danger. Some of it is related to how many people actually own the breed.
IE, the most dangerous dog, the Caucasian Mountain Dog, is owned by almost no one in America and illegal in many places so they never bite anyone. But they'd love to kill you.

Yeah just what we need. More government intrusion in our lives. You all are not conservatives if you want to give even more power to the government. You already have the right to kill an animal that is trying to attack you.
And really, you want parents held criminally accountable for the actions of their kids? You're going to send the parents to death row for a murder 17 year old Dequane committed? You already have the right to kill Dequane as well if he's trying to attack you.

Yeah, I posted in an OT thread a little over a month ago about an 11 year old boy in my neighborhood who was jumped by three pit bulls while riding his bike, they drug him into a ditch and he would up losing approximately 70% of his scalp and part of an ear.
They did put the dogs down and charged the owner, I don't recall the exact charges, but I hope it's significant. That breed is dangerous and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they bred them out of existence

Women and the elderly have just as much right to the 2nd amendment. As for children, maybe we should throw you in prison for child neglect if you're not around and they get attacked.

If your state isn't as good as mine (FL) when it comes to self-defense laws, then that's your problem for staying there.
