My dad was 41 and 45 when my brother and I were born. I had 3 kids of my own at 32, 34, and 36.

He looked a lot younger at 40 than I did

FWIW a lot of the parents at my kids school had their first in their 40s. It’s a pretty affluent school and all the kids seem pretty well adjusted. I think you can bring a lot of wisdom to fatherhood later in life.

38.

The suck level depends on how fast they start sleeping through the night. Six weeks, six months, six years.....

I missed by like 45 days.

If you have back pain issues, go ahead and take out a life policy that can put the kids through college once it becomes too much.

Sounds so miserable. Imagine being in your late 50s and having a teenager. Oof

As a child, the only benefit of having a scraggly balls Dad is that you will almost certainly have a better first vehicle than everyone else in your grade.

38, would have been fine a few years before, but I wouldn't have been ready in my 20s.

I love the OT’s latent desire of self-extinguishing.

Better wait to have kids:

in - first/only when I was 50 and my wife was 36

everything's a trade-off: I don't have the energy I did in my 20s and 30s but I'm a LOT more patient now than I was then

I was 38. I don’t know any different so it’s hard to give a comparison. I was more financially stable than at 28 so it’s been very easy to provide a comfortable life for my kid

Had my last child at 42.

The experiences of my child far outweigh anything else.

I was 31 when our last of the three was born. the trend is later and later but it’s definitely easier in everything but finances the younger you are.

I had my first at 30 and i can honestly say, i realized at 35 that i would have been much happier waiting till then.

But after 40, absolutely fricking hellzzzzzz no. I’m over 40 now and there is ZERO about a new born i want to deal with
