“The Gator Collective had reneged on its deal in early December, two days after the initial payment was due, and on Jan. 17 the quarterback was granted a release from his letter of intent. Rashada, once seemingly poised to benefit greatly from a perceived bidding war between Miami and Florida boosters, was suddenly without a school and without NIL dollars.”

What retard would pay that kind of money to a unproven player. Also that is the most ridiculous payout schedule that I have ever seen.Nil needs to go away forever.

But the payout schedule is complete BS. Rashada will end up receiving as much of that money and throwing for as many yards at Florida as all of us.

He wasn't even that high of a prospect if I remember correctly and was rated about the #30-ish overall in the nation.

Add that to the fact that only about 30% of 5* HS QBs become NFL players, and it's even more of a crapshoot.

Napier must have been pushing hard for this kid in an attempt to save his job.

We had a top 5 class and the #1 portal class. The resources are obviously there so I wouldn’t worry about it as it relates to LSU.

Well no because he didn't get it. Kid can ask for the Rashada deal and the school will say Rashada didn't get the Rashada deal so no.

The bigger question is was that contract tied to him playing for Florida? Of course, we know that is the practical effect, but was it specifically stated in the contract and to what degree? If so, that might be a good jumping off point for an NCAA investigation. If not, then he could have theoretically transferred and still been owed money for use of his NIL because it technically can’t be tied exclusively to Florida.

Personally, I think between this and the TAMU issues, you will start seeing a lot of unofficial collusion between the collectives/schools. There will be an odd bidding war, but I think even those will have "caps" on them. You are just pissing away money otherwise, and frankly the money is probably better spent holding onto younger players already on campus.

I also think whoever said the lawyers/agents getting involved looking for a big commission are a major driving forse

Nah because they won't trust each other to stick to it.
