Add that to the fact that only about 30% of 5* HS QBs become NFL players, and it's even more of a crapshoot.

Why do you say that as if it’s bad? That’s a major hit rate

Desmond Ridder was a 3rd round pick last year. He signed a 4 year deal worth $5.3 million. High school kids are signing 4 year $13 million dollar deals. This system is stupid.

That would have been the dumbest move in Florida/NCAA history if they would have followed through with that deal lol

This isn't what NIL was supposed to be. The NCAA has fricked this up royally.

If it all goes belly up, I don't even care at this point.

High school recruits are going to be so fricking confused when we finally enter a proper recession in the future.

Every 5* will be an expert in Neo-Keynesian and Austrian economics by their freshman year.

They'll be re-tweeting their highlights and Fed chair speeches all day.

What retard would pay that kind of money to a unproven player. Also that is the most ridiculous payout schedule that I have ever seen.Nil needs to go away forever.

Where does that money even come from? That is ridiculous.

The bigger question is was that contract tied to him playing for Florida?

I heard there was some term in the deal that tied him to Gainesville, FL not University of Florida. I have no idea how it was framed.

NIL is out of control...

It might be, but I don't believe this is indicative of NIL as a whole. I mean, if this deal had gone thru I would agree. But the deal fell apart for a reason. Likely because the moron in the Florida collective who came up with this plan was reeled in by those with the common sense to realize how stupidly distanced from reality those numbers are when compared to their actual funds available.

This is obviously not the current norm for NIL as it is the first deal of anything near this magnitude that has leaked.

To be fair…

Cam Newton and Joe Burrow especially made their universities way more than 13 million those years when they played. Not that Rashada could be them, but SEC quarterbacks should be holding out for what they’re worth with the money the conference is making. It is a market.

LOL....Florida was going to pay this kid 3X what the Eagles are paying Jalen Hurts who led Philly to the Super Bowl and made the Pro Bowl. This goes WAAAAYYY beyond stupid.
