Why do we give the socialists/communists a pass on things like the Holodomor?

People love bringing up the holocaust when discussing fascism. Yet I bet 90% (at least) of the American general public couldn’t tell you a damn thing about the Holodomor. Or the gulag archipelago. Or the great purge. Or the various Chinese killings. Or any of the other various communist regime killings in any of the other various failed communist states.
There’s entire sections in every history textbook in schools dedicated to fascism and the holocaust. Yet, it wasn’t until after I was done with school and started picking up history books on my own that I learned of those things (Holodomor etc)
Yeah, the communists fought on our side in WWII, but why should they get a pass on the numerous genocides they took part in?

Smart people don't give communists/marxists/socialists a pass. Only retarded left wing idiots who don't know the results of these failed ideologists want to see it implemented in America because "it's (D)ifferent" here.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend"
They shouldn't be excused but this is probably the reason they have been.

The Germans lost soldiers saw the camps and survivors were free to tell their stories across the world. These communist cullings were successful, but not many survived, and the regimes continued.

Probably because the Holocaust surrounded a pretty major war.

The engineers of the communist/socialist genocides retained power after World War II, contrary to Germany. There's the pass.

Also, it's pretty rich when the left tries to accuse the right of fascism, given the actions of ANTIFA, the expose' of government colluding with private businesses and corporations to suppress conservative voices. That is the hallmark of fascism.
I don't see many corporations standing up against the woke agenda promoted by the left, do you?

Socialism and Communism should be spoken of the same way Nazism is. Instead, we actually have elected officials subscribing to, advocating for, and practicing these ideologies. It's completely idiotic.

i don't think they get a pass. even if they do, that in no way diminishes the horror of the holocaust

Another example of Communism and the denial of the Holodomor. The Ukrainians were resisting, the massive collectivization of arable land by the regime of the USSR.
The Kulaks, basically the wealthier farmers, were suppose to be the targets of collectivization, however the USSR’s definition of who was Kulak vague, thus instead of hitting the small and rich portion of the Ukrainian population it affected more than 70% of all farmers. Ukraine was a grain producer for the rest of the USSR and there was a quota they had to meet. Stalin decided to punish those who were not able to meet to meet the quota by seizing their seed grain.
In 1932 there was virtually no seed grain left and the Ukrainian local government asked Stalin for grain assistance. Moreover, Ukraine asked the Red Cross for help and while Stalin initially admitted that there was a large famine in the works, Stalin still demanded the wheat to be collected and relocated to the rest of the USSR. Stalin was actively trying to punish Ukrainians for they refusal to cooperate with collectivization, the massive protests in 1930s or he didn’t care that millions would eventually die horrible deaths.
Communism is truly fricking evil.

The Nazi victims had greater status and controlled the media.

And the Spanish Civil War, where their actions were borderline demonic.
We all know why it’s not discussed.

Because the communist religion (and I mean that literally) doesn’t believe in objective truth, it’s only narrative. They think that the narrative of history is the battle ground to bring about the utopian vision of the end of history.
So, the communists took over the school system and infiltrated all of the various institutions with any authority, at first slowly and then more quickly.
They choose not to teach anything critical of their movement. That’s the truth and it’s that simple.

The irony of it is nobody on the American right is actually a fascist. The left is full of avowed socialists, and the mainstream left is marching in that direction with every election cycle.
Those kooks are so far left they thing the moderate version of the Republican party is "Far right."

Russia is trying to finish the job right now and the poliboard is cheering them on. I don't see many self described socialists or communists over there. OP's post seems a little strawman-ish.

Eddie Izzard covered this years ago.
Stalin and Mao killed their own mostly.
Hitler tried to kill other people and we just can't allow that

Communists killed their own and kept it in their borders. Nazis and Japanese carried out hostile takeovers of other countries and targeted other groups for extermination. That's why they get more press than the communists.
