16 years to be miserable? Why don’t you try therapy?

So your kid is 2. That's a long haul buddy.

No, it wouldn’t. Why would you like waste 16 years in a loveless, miserable marriage?

Need to make her get a job, the higher paying the better. Even if you wait just a few years do this. If you wait 16 more and she is just a stay at home mom your fricked.

Kids pick up on unhappiness and in addition you’re modeling what marriage looks like for your kids. Do you want them to have a marriage like yours one day?

Be a man and just emotionally detatch. Give back rubs to your work wife and take your 30 minute showers like the rest of us.

It would be better for your kids to wait it out. It would be better for your finances, particularly investments/pension, to bail as early as possible and rebuild.

not necessarily. And I’d rather live in a tent than with a woman you don’t want to be with.

But I would go to counseling to make sure you aren’t the a-hole

That would be a no for me to wait 16 years until the youngest kid turns 18. If your youngest was 15 maybe that would seem pretty doable.

What if they end up killing each other and then the 6 year old is alone with the bodies until the grandmother gets there.

Here on out, she has to raise the damn kid in her 50s..a kid who will need therapy and possible sex change now all cause you wanted to be traditional and keep it at 1 Christmas instead of 2.

I don’t understand this thought process.

She already has half your shite. You are already supporting your kids.

If you want to leave, you should leave.

I mean, the longer you stay married to her the larger share of your retirement/savings she'll get to claim, if you're in a community property state.

In LA permanent spousal support is hard to get so you would have interim SS through the 1-year waiting period and 6 months after the divorce. Then it's just child support.
