Let’s say you had a $1500 budget and already had a putter what would your ideal bag look like?

It would look pretty empty in today's market

As long as you're OK with pre-owned clubs, you can build a pretty nice bag for $1,500.

Driver - Cobra LTDx $300
Fairway woods - Ping G410 (3 & 5) $300
Irons - Cobra King Tour MIM 4-PW $600
Wedges - Callaway Jaws MD5 (50-56-60) $300

That's $1,500 right there, and I'd be happy to play that set.

I'd go on Callaway preowned.

I know people are getting tired of me posting about Sub70 Golf, but I really cannot recommend them enough. With a $1500 budget, you could easily build a full bag from them. If you go for upgraded shafts, that'll cost more. However, their stock shaft options are great. I would put their products up against any OEM. Their customer service is second to NONE!

Dr: Ping G425
Ping G425 3 & 7woods
Szixon ZX7's 5-PW
54 and 58 Cleveland Zipcore wedges
Odyssey White Hot # 7

all conditions were average or better..

Whole bag without a putter is going to run near $3k if you want name brands like Mizuno, Cobra, Callaway, Taylormade, etc. and fitted shafts.

Tour Edge, PXG, and sub 70 are worth a look.

You can build a complete bag of PXG 0211 clubs including putter and bag for under 1500.00. They are quality clubs too.

You will have cash left over for balls, gloves and tee's.

Other than that, Callaway Pre-owned and Sub70 can get you in the ballpark

The answer should vary from post to post based on individual games currently and goals. I wouldnt put too much stock into what others might say..

2nd Swing and Callaway Pre-Owned. Built a bag last year on a similar budget and ended up with new Cally Mavrik driver, woods, and a hybrid, Mizuno irons and a Vokey SW off 2nd Swing. Only thing I kept was my putter. $1500 is doable for a solid bag.

Since then I've picked up a few more wedges, a couple of RTX Zipcores. On sale over Christmas. Thanks Santa.

Callaway Rogue will be going on sale very soon. Callaway Epic is really cheap. Those are two really good options for woods and irons. I didn’t switch to the rogue 3 wood last year and won’t switch to the paradym this year. Sticking with epic.

Yeah, I have the Mavriks but wish I had the Rogue line. Rogue ST Max fairway woods are excellent. Like New right now are $223. Good price as is and will probably drop a bit as Paradigm rolls out.

ETA - just checked the Epic line, Speed and Max. You are not kidding. Like New $120-$140. They're giving them away. Like New will still be in the plastic, so brand new.
