I had an employee put a guys name in the CC line to figure out how to spell his name so he could talk shite about him, then forgot to delete it and sent.
That's so incredible he could probably turn it into a bluff that he was sending a message.

People ask me why I don’t reply all. Even when it’s something not with work. I just don’t do it so I never do it.
Plus most of the time I’m answering a specific question for one person.

I used to work for a very large company that used Skype messaging. There were several thousand people in offices across the world on it. One day some poor bastard accidentally blasts a group message out to everyone in the company. That set off the moron chain reaction of people sending "what is this?", "Why am I getting this?", "I don't think this is for me", etc. That was followed by dozens of well meaning dumbasses telling everyone to stop replying to it. The whole thing went on for a few hours pinging everyone's computer.

That is seriously a huge fear of mine
Mine is someone forwarding a chain of internal convos later down the line to someone external whom those comments were not intended for.

I've seen one of these play out before and it was hilarious. Ended with 2 guys getting a 2 day vacation without pay.

It's only January and I've already gotten 2 such emails.
Negotiations take a turn when your dumbass client emails my client directly and includes your internal discussions and deal points lol.

Back in my consulting days a guy was giving a presentation to a major bank for their new data warehouse. The guy presenting was very technical, the PM messaged him while presenting "dumb it down these idiots aren't going to get it"
Without realizing it popped up on the presenters screen, he then doubled down when the client basically start shutting them down due to the message and said "wrap it up, frick em"
Dude was fired within the hour.
Teams is supposed to not pop up chats while presenting but it doesn't always work I was presenting and one of the guys that reports to me messaged "I'm going to hang myself" in jest. My boss was legit concerned for him

We had a company wide email go out like that inviting everyone available to a luncheon/team building event. Couple guys replied all saying they had better things to do. management were part of that email distribution list

Honestly, whoever is talking to Robert is right.
It's completely unnecessary to respond all to an email with that many people on it.

We had a vendor do this.
We posed a question to our sales guy and he forwarded the entire chain he had with his tech team, including them saying “they had no idea how to fix the issue”…and then the sales guy says they’re “working on the issue”.

Who drops the F bomb in a company email like that?
Our slack is worse.
So much worse

One of my pet peeves is people starting back up an old email chain for a topic completely unrelated. The above is always my fear with this.
Subject : Reminder Wed before thanksgiving is a holiday
Email body: Hey everyone did we get that invoice from Jim back yet?
I routinely start new emails just to help prevent this type of issue. There’s no reason to have one long chain with 3 or 4 subjects.

If you use Outlook, there is actually an option to disallow reply all when you’re sending out an email to multiple recipients.
More people should use this because there’s always a few stupid fricks that just can’t help themselves.
