How about 1 murder, one rape and dump resulting in death, and a student shot on campus? All were separate events that happened within 4 months. Can you still name any town with that many horrific events in such a short time period? This doesn’t even count robberies and other lesser crimes happening to students or on campus.
The campus crime surge colleges don't tell parents about

Putting it on the local businesses. Instead of demanding they meet with him and tell HIM what they’re gonna do to lower the risk of a repeat event, why doesn’t he call out the cultha that facilitates this societal rot destroying our communities l?

Pointing out a business that caters to your student body is creating an environment where 18 year olds can be served to .391 BAC and underage thug trash from Walker knows they can drive to town and prey on drunk college chicks is fair game. Tate can’t curtail thuggery in a press release.

The folks arrested in this matter are ultimately responsible, and I think they should be charged with being responsible for her death. Reggie’s can’t play innocent though.

Who helped her get that drunk? Who did she originally go out with? Were the guys drunk too? Lots of people could have prevented this.

Yes and LSU put all the blame on a bar (Murphys), just like Tate is doing now. But Ben Wynne spent his entire evening at an off campus apartment getting black out drunk. But Murphys was made the scapegoat. It’s the same shite here. The blame isn’t being placed where it belongs.

While Murphy's don't deserve all of the blame, they deserved some of the blame. Once someone is in your bar, I think you have a responsibility to be aware of a customer's state and at some point cut off serving them alcohol. Now would that have prevented Wynne from dying? He would have likely gone somewhere else, possibly back to the apartment he had been at that day, no one knows, but if a bar is selling to minors, then I absolutely think they deserve a lot of the blame.

A lot of alcohol alters behavior, decisions are made that wouldn't be made if the alcohol wasn't consumed. If a bar illegally sells to people and then those minors go off and do something horrible then that directly leads to the actions of the bar. They were there because they were able to buy alcohol. This is completely different from the Wynne situation.. IMO.

Carver told investigators he believed Brooks was too drunk to know that she was consenting to sex and he “hated it,” the warrant states.

Then DO something. Intervene. I can’t think of a better reason to get your arse kicked. My sons are too young to understand this situation, but I’m going to bookmark this for 5 years down the road.

Lesson # 1: Have the courage of your convictions. If Carver had that, he wouldn’t be in prison right now.

Lesson # 2: If you lie down with dogs, you get fleas.

Your post above isn’t relevant to this situation, but overall it is correct. If everyone is drunk, not stupid passed out piss your pants drunk, but tonight is going to be slightly hazy, why is it only the man’s responsibility to say no?

It’s not about it being the man’s responsibility to say ‘no.’ It’s about the woman’s mental state and her ability to consent and say ‘yes’ and for the man to recognize what constitutes consent.

Is she buzzed but coherent and well aware of what she’s doing? Or is she shitfaced and also doesn’t remember her address or seem aware of her surroundings? Those are two different mental and physical states and any guy who says he doesn’t recognize the difference is full of shite.

yeah i'm curious to know how they tracked these guys down....

I’m thinking BRPD got a plate scan in an area undisclosed after reviewing surveillance of the parking lot and matched the car to the registered owner or parents of the kid who was the driver, which led to cops rolling up on household for an interview.

This is the problem. Time to treat teens doing adult crimes as adults.

But I also blame the bar for being a slim and getting an underage girl shitfaced as well

I also blame her peer group some as well
you seem to be slinging a lot of blame around without knowing all the facts...perhaps she was bought the drinks by the 28 year old...perhaps she was mostly drunk before she got there...perhaps she had other drugs in her system...perhaps she was alone in the bar without friends...perhaps everyone involved had fake ID's...

I am very happy I was able to drink before I was 21 in bars...it made for some good times...not once did I think about doing what these kids did.

Silence is violence, or so they say.

Tate has been more bold and forceful calling out a college bar than he has the dysfunctional city officials where his campus resides.

He’s a pussy and this is the third (at least) major incident.

At some point he needs to make a public stand or he’s culpable.

Thugs are emboldened to operate freely in that shithole city.

He’s going to call out underage drinking, but not the crime infested ghetto next door?

I don’t disagree.

But Tate seems to want to blame everyone else but the actual rapists:

As
quote:

such, our action plan starts with a deep and relentless focus on any establishment that profits off our students by providing alcohol to underage individuals. In the coming days, we will call a meeting with these business owners to discuss how their responsibilities directly impact the safety of our students. We will work openly against any business that doesn’t join us in efforts toward creating a safer environment for our students. Enough is enough.

Real and long-lasting solutions require multiple strategies, so we will not stop there. That is why I am asking our entire Baton Rouge community, from business leaders to citizens, to work together and join us in this effort.

Again, no mention of the perps or culture that normalizes this type of criminal behavior. How bout “enough is enough” to the thugs preying on young coeds? And to the shitshow city administration that does nothing to discourage that thug behavior?

I’m not saying it never happens. But at the end of the night, 80% of the people in every bar in Tigerland probably should have been cut off by that point. It’s not a very common occurrence.

Arguing it's consensual. Maybe they were all hammered? Only thing I can think of.

Someone alluded to it earlier in the thread, but makes you wonder how often situations like this happen without the girl being killed, yet never makes the news.

Seems like this scenario could play out every weekend.

Probably that she was “the aggressor” in the bar hanging all over the boys and dancing with them. Not a good defense but only thing I can think of.

If you had a daughter you’d understand

I do have a daughter. I also have a son. I will have two very different conversations with them in high school and college. I’m just saying it’s extremely hypocritical for kids in college to be at a party, be at the same level of inebriation, go frick, and the guy can be charged with rape.

This belief has no bearing on this case and I hope these four males, not men, that did this rot in hell. .319 is damn near comatose. In no situation is that explainable.
