Microsoft Fires 10000 Employees as It Invests in AI



AI will replace unskilled workers. Eventually most skilled labor will be replaced as well. Then they rollout UBI. It’s happening

I’m not going to celebrate the loss of livelihood of anyone that isn’t a politician, banker, or journalist, but it’s obvious from the recent tech labor crunch that there were a lot of unnecessary jobs that existed in that industry.

You say this like it's a bad thing that economic output will eventually not be dependent on human labor. I'm not saying you shouldn't be worried about oppressive governments or corporatocracies, we should be and have made a huge mistake allowing so much money and power to consolidate at the federal level, but that's a completely separate issue from heading towards the technologically advanced point of being able to create anything we need without human labor.
