I'd feel about the same as if I went to hunt on public land and somebody was already where I wanted to hunt. I'd say awe shucks and go to the next spot on the list.

Same bullshite with duck hunters who cut some roseau cane and build a blind on public hunting land before the season opens, then think that it reserves that spot for them all season and want to start shite if someone else gets there first one morning.

If you don't want someone else in "your spot" then either wake up earlier and get there first or buy/lease private property and sink your brush piles in a private lake

I don't think I have chimed in on this one yet.

I sank christmas trees in a private lake that about 20 other folks have [legal] access to.

I publically broadcasted the location specifically because I want other people to enjoy catching fish. If I get there and someone is fishing it, we both fish it.

I don't see the big deal.

If you go offshore bottom fishing on a reef and you get there, and there's someone else (dozens usually) fishing it, you all fish it. Obviously respect people's space but you don't get that whole reef to yourself. Sometimes I think some people are just looking for stuff to be pissed off about, like a woman with PMS. But a man, and it's 365. I feel sorry for those people.

This thread kind of reminds me of a duck blind we built years ago on a public lake. We built a pretty substantial blind that was like 18' long and probably 10' wide. We drove 10 4x4's in the ground and it was big enough to drive the boat in and still had a platform to stand on and hunt.

We'd leave coke bottles out for decoys all season and never had anyone else hunt the blind(that I know of).

Even if I showed up one morning and there was someone else in there, I wouldn't get upset, but I'd at least ask if I could hunt with them.

I've never been duck hunting but read enough public blind stories here to know that if I built one, I'd put all kinds of satanic symbols and Blair Witch Project shite all around it.

The guy you talking about is a very good person. You are not telling the complete story. When he suggested you build your own brush piles your smart arse answer was. Why should I when I can fish yours. You poured gas on the fire! You live on the lake therefore you have better and easier opportunity to build your own. The lake is 10 miles long and has over 1100 piers. If it wasn’t for the hard work of others would you be fishing this small area? Hell No. Several of us build brush piles. Yes, we can fish each others piles but we don’t. It’s called RESPECT. Evidently you don’t have any. You say you need to put up cameras and that you fear for your family. You must enjoy the harassment you claim because you continue to piss him off. You started this conversation wanting opinions and answers. It very simple. 1st Grade level answer. Build your own and stop fishing everyone else’s. Problem Solved

You’re a fricking idiot. I don’t even fish this lake and I’m tempted to launch there and drag every pile I can find off a flat just because such idiots like you exist. Get a grip. It’s a public lake and you’re a dumbass

I rode down to the LA Express boat launch yesterday afternoon to see how high and muddy the water was (chocolate milk), there were two guys in a bateau full of Christmas trees about to launch. All I could do was laugh and think about this thread. Good luck to y’all fishing today.

As is the case in most life situations, I'm sute this baw is justified in his mind for "protecting what's his" and I don't wish him ill will in life for doing what he perceives as right, but the 14 year old kid in me wants to go take a dump on his dock and join in on this fun today.

May the odds be ever in your favor today... and call Green Jeans before hot heads prevail.

Updates are expected, this has turned pretty interesting for old dudes like me.

I would regret not having my own private lake. But alas. Here we stand.

So, in theory, if you spent a five year period of time placing brush piles every 50 feet, you could have a whole arm of a lake to yourself..

You see, that is what is being done. So if you dont go steal sweetgum off of someones land, you cant fish.

Wind is howling on that lake right now so I'm not surprised it's pretty vacant.
Counted 6 boats marking and fishing the flats yesterday around noon and it's only gonna get worse out there.
Biggest tournament of the year is February 11th, $5k guaranteed for 1st, so I'm sure every pier and pile on the lake is gonna get worked hard.

They use to have a saying back when False River was booming back in the 70’s and 80’s.

The bass could tell you what type of lure you were throwing, where you bought it, and how much you paid for it.

Lol!

At one time when that place had grass the fish were stacked in there.

Anyone want to launch a few pontoon boats and have a redneck yacht club in the south end of the lake feb 11th? I’ll brink the keg!

Rich, big-name, landowners complained to the ldwf and they sprayed it all dead in the 80's. Now they're spending millions on drawdowns and "research" to get it to grow back, but ldwf admits it's likely never gonna happen.
