What were they smoking when they designed SoFi Stadium?

They didn't make it a dome
They didn't make it a retractable roof
They didn't make it a completely outdoor venue

No, they made it as close to a dome as possible but still left some opening without the ability to close it, to where it can still rain and lightning in the stadium thus weather delays can still happen. Just a very odd design choice.

Remember when it had a lightning delay because it has a roof that isn’t a roof

I was thinking that the other day. I also wonder what the heating/cooling is like. I remember they were worried it was going to be super hot for the early part of the Super Bowl as it was going to kick off in daylight. On the other hand, the Dolphins were cold a few weeks ago as it was in the 50's. Is there even any heat or AC?

The latter two were out of the question due to its proximity to LAX and being directly under its flight path.

The absurdity of lawyers today that this is a thing is insane. The entire building is certainly grounded. What is the issue with a little lightning?

It's a pretty cool design, it's kind of grown on me.

I like it.

Weather is rarely an issue. They don’t have to heat and cool it.

I guess it's been an absolute disaster tonight.

Sofi Stadium is so MID. We’re in a dome and it’s still fricking freezing in here. $23 beers and dickhead security. Can’t wait for the Natty to go back to the south where it belongs!

SoFi Stadium was built as an indoor/outdoor stadium but the floor is entirely too slippery tonight in the rain. Multiple people are slipping and falling and having to be helped out on stretchers. video

Yea just living in the south, I’ve got to imagine it raining there and it being muggy and everything sweating and being slippery af.

At least adding a layer with some grip to it is a relatively minor fix.
