Well you got this part right. It’s like someone kicked an ant hill then threw crack on top of it inside of there.

Isn’t it amazing what you can do with good competent leadership & a few older Baptist holdouts dying off to make progress & move forward with the rest of the world? Ruston has come so far since when I was there & we still had a blast.

So if half of you on here have never, or very few times have, even been to Ruston, why are you intent on bashing it now and past threads? I see no reason at all. Since when is being murder capital of the US something to so proud of and known for down there? I think you are deep down jealous maybe not of Buc-ee’s itself coming but the idea they finked out on the one in BR and podunk Ruston, up in the horrible backwards north Louisiana, is getting the first one in Louisiana, not that that is such an honor. It’s beyond me why there is such dislike for us. Just do your thing there and buzz off!

go on twitter or Facebook and most comments are bashing Ruston because they're getting a Buc-ee's and not south Louisiana

I would, but I don’t want my bp to go up any more. This snobby better-than-thou attitude is and has gotten old.

Buc-ee’s upper management isn’t stupid. Get involved with the absolute shiteshow that is NOLA, BR and south LA politics, or get involved with a competent led local government in Ruston. No brainer really.

Why would a Costco build in Ruston? Would a business center do deliveries to Shreveport and Monroe. That’s the only way that would make sense to me.

I talked to a guy working at Costco in Lafayette the other day and he said he was moving to Monroe. I asked if they were building one there.

He said no, he was changing careers and that Costco does very detailed demographic studies of where they build. And that Monroe and Shreveport would never get a Costco.

Not sure about a business center though.

you guys are talking about a town with well above the median income and people driving to Shreveport or Monroe just to shop at Target..and not the big Targets, the janky ones

I could see a business center making total sense, it's catered towards just that businesses, and they deliver. Being in Ruston would put them right in the middle of the three hubs in North Louisiana. Hour deliveries to Shreveport, 30-45 minute deliveries to Monroe/West Monroe, and hour and a half ish deliveries to Alexandria area if they wanted it.

It actually makes perfect sense, I have no idea if they'll get one though

I was in many classes with you.. and you're wrong. Hot Rods is NOT in Farmerville. It is in Ruston, across from Log Cabin.

It says it's going to be in Ruston. The west side of the interstate is Grambling, not Ruston, which is why the liquor stores are there.

I-20 runs east to west... there is no west side of the interstate, unless you're talking about Scroggins Draw, Texas.

weird. i don’t know you.

and i realized my mistake. i knew it was Farmerville something. I was just coming in trying to give some love for Ruston amongst all the hate that gearing up in this thread. Didn’t realize the exact GPS locations would get me the hate.

Anyhow, yeah Hotrods was GOAT for me in Ruston back then. Me and my brother could get a few slice of brisket, a large tub of beans, and 2 sweet teas for like $7-8 after church on Sunday.

I loved Buccees back in the 90s on the way to Galveston before they became a destination. Cheap Ice and Clean bathrooms. Now I never even think about stopping at one. It is too much of a spectacle now and I just want gas and to go to the bathroom.
