How close will it be to Grambling? Will it be on the Grambling side?
Across the interstate from Grambling city limits.

I'm not saying there isn't anything to do in Ruston as a whole or it isn't a nice place to live

"there isn't shite to do there unless you are a college student"

I don't think anyone is saying it's some mecca, but Ruston today is not early 2000's Ruston. They have become more business friendly, have a reputation in the retail and service industries as being one of the better markets per capita for revenue (even if we are talking about chains). They have one of the largest legal marijuana farms in the south. The Enterprise initiative between LTU and some major firms has created some very good jobs for the area. They just built a top notch multi-sport complex. Have done some great work on the city and parish parks including the green trail they are continuing to expand.

But there isn't anything that you can do in Ruston that isn't exactly like most towns in Louisiana.
Safety, business, sports, outdoors... it may not be the best, but like I stated it's progressed over the last two decades as other towns around the state have mostly remained stagnant or regressed.

The exit where the Buc-ees will be is 2 miles from the Grambling exit.

no, you got off at the Tech exit and took the service road to Rabbs...no one went to Grambling and then turned around

You misunderstood my post. Coming from Shreveport, you pass Rabb's on the right, go up to the next exit (La Tech), and come back down the service road.

So again...

If you ever went to Rabb's you had to go up an exit and come back down a service road to the bar/restaurant.

As in doubling back the way you came.

I think that is between the campuses. The two towns border one another after expansion on both sides with unincorporated areas.

You're technically right, it's just quite a bizzare way to describe it.

"Ruston is a dry town, when coming from Shreveport, you pass Rabbs to get off the exit to get to the exit"

I know when my father attended Ruston was 100% dry glad things have changed.

It still is, there's liquor stores on the city limits line just like there always has been.

A Buc-ees in Louisiana diminishes the brand.

Agreed. I know what you're saying.

I went to LSU but had friends that went to Tech. We were all from Shreveport. I notice they always describe things coming from Tech's campus, and I always describe them coming from Shreveport still some 20 years later.

Again, not true. There are bars downtown, The Dawg House pretty much in the middle of campus, and I bought beer a few weeks ago at the Walmart Neighborhood Market right across the street from campus.

I think everyone who lives South of Alexandria or grew up in Monroe or SBC just assume that Ruston is/was/will always be what it was 20-30 years ago. It's still has that safe Southern town vibe, but now the Baptist don't run every aspect of it. There is a pot farm, brewery, and you can even buy and consume alcohol without leaving the city limits. Heck, my nephew said they were even selling beer at Tech games now.

You've been able to get drinks (beer and liquor) in the glass for years now.

Buc-ee’s is a gas station, not a truck stop. No big rigs allowed except those that are delivering goods

That's even worse.

Cars can take kids faster than 18 wheelers.
