One of those 2 should offer Tulane would be a good fit for both

The big 12. No different than having Cincy in the conference. But I don't think Tulane increases the tv revenue enough for it to be worthwhile for the other teams.

They have a better chance at the ACC when the football schools bail in 2035. Need to win a lot between now and then and boost attendance though.

They don’t fit in the Big 12.

Tulane has more SEC Championships in football than:

Kentucky
Mississippi State
Arkansas
Missouri
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

They also have the same number of SEC football championships as all of those schools combined.

After one good season where they didn’t even averaged 30,000 in attendance? Neither. They are right where they need to be in the American. Especially since the playoffs are expanding to 12 teams in 2024.

What does Tulane add that benefits the SEC? Yulman is a 30k seat stadium. Besides Vandy, every other SEC stadium is at least double that capacity with many being 3x the capacity or very close to it. Tulane doesn't add anything in terms of media rights value since the SEC already has the New Orleans TV market via LSU and all the bandwagon Bama fans from the westbank.

You could make an argument for the Big 12. With Oklahoma and Texas leaving and being replaced by former CUSA and AAC schools, Tulane fits in better. Yulman would still be the smallest capacity stadium in the conference, but at least other Big 12 members have 40-45k stadiums and not all 70-100k like the SEC. Plus at least Tulane adds a new TV market for the Big 12.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up in the Big 10 in the long run. It would give Big 10 schools a better opportunity to recruit Louisiana for athletics. The bigger reason though is b/c Tulane is an AAU school. They could add to the Big 10's ability to pool resources to get more research money which actually dwarfs the amount of money schools make via sports.

Bring them in the SEC and let them play Vandy as their cross. Having them in will LSU less than A&M.

Big 12 could use Tulane just to have a destination city.

Seems like the Big 12 is a natural fit based on location and because other AAC teams are joining. If they can keep up their success and not be a 1-year wonder, then I'm sure they'll get an invite once Texas and OU leave.

Felt like this was a softball tossed up by the OP to get some people to shite all over Tulane’s Athletic program and to take away some of the shine from what the football team accomplished yesterday.

If so, well done and sorry that the buzz around Tulane was eating you and some others up so much.

While an upgraded Conference (in terms of media dollars) would be phenomenal, the key is just having access to a fair road to compete for Championships - which Tulane did not have in former BCS formats and will in the future Playoff.

It really makes some people feel uneasy that a team that is not part of the Boys Club has the talent to hang around and beat a USC team that had a month to prepare for them.

Here’s your next thread topic to help with your insecurity: “What would have Tulane’s record been with LSU’s conference schedule?”

Not to shite on their accomplishments this year, but no, neither would take Tulane.

It’s not how good/bad the other Louisiana schools are, but just how much LSU dominates the state and how little population are on board with the others. Ditto Arkansas and Missouri.

Tulane should get the B1G invite instead of USCw if they want the more present superior football program.

Central Florida would be much more deserving and they are still a hard NO.

Tulane was a charter member of the SEC.
