I'd rather be woken up and not have one on top of me than the opposite.
Yep. That's precisely why I left the avalanche warnings on.

Nothing like getting a 2 AM wake up call for river flooding 50 miles away in another county
My old phone did this constantly. New phone hates me and doesn't care.

As I head to bed, Im checking radar and see some rotation heading towards Plaquemine. Anyone else see that?
It doesn't look like much right now. There's a Special Weather Statement on it.

The lightning show coming from that one is pretty awesome here in God’s Country north of St. Amant.

Looks hooky to me, hopefully its nothing

Everything today has had some rotation, but for various reasons they haven't been able to really wrap up. It is why having a way to get warnings is important. You can't watch a storm that's doing little-to-nothing constantly. The rotation with that one is very broad, which is how it has been all day.

The weather in St. Tammany right now is insane. I can't remember it raining this hard continuously for this long ever. I mean straight pouring, going to be some flash flooding for sure.
Not to mention the lighting is getting it.

Hail! Old Goodwood.
Yeah. Heavy lightning, then hail, then a heavy rain. Now a slow rain. Went through quick, hopefully it’s over.

Definitely lots of hail in Old Goodwood. Need a new roof

Earlier I saw a close strike of lightning hit a distribution line somewhere nearby and a nice arc lit up the sky, knocked out power but the recloser was able to bring it back on
