Mike Scarborough brought up something with Jacques Doucet regarding Walker Howard

Scarborough told Doucet that Walker has been on scout team all year and that they don’t practice on the same field as the team. He said Walker doesn’t want to go through that another year and Walker and his family just wants a fair shot for second string if Daniels and Nuss are back next year.

Do these kids not understand that when they come to a school, there are other players there? Most every freshman qb not starting in the country probably ran scout this year. This isn’t mistreatment.

I find it hard to believe that we have a scout team practicing separate from the rest of the team. That would be a legitimately retarded thing to do.

Well that clears up a lot and honestly Howard isn’t going anywhere. The way I see it is.
1- JD declares and GN and WH Duke it out for starter but probably be GN
2- JD stays and WH wins the backup and GN transfers
3- All 3 stay (Highly unlikely)

This is what the transfer portal can do. It gives and it takes away. Honestly I think Nuss has more to lose than Walker right now if JD comes back. But if they are hearing that Nuss and JD are coming back I could see Walker looking around.

But he purposefully took a redshirt. That’s what redshirts do, they take a backseat. No redshirt, no backseat. Everyone knows he’s the future.

I mean yeah in the day of the trasnfer portal players aren't going to want to sit and wait for multiple years anymore. Someone probably will end up leaving

There is no shot we end up with all 3 QB’s after spring. It’s likely that whoever gets relegated to scout team is gone and Rickie Collins will take over that job.

Dude redshirted where else would they put him on the field besides running the scout team. Also I would think the scout team lines up against the first teams so he probably got more snaps than Nuss running the other teams plays. Sounds like the hosts were just trying to create drama.

I still have a feeling Daniels is gone after the bowl game. His draft grade will make the difference but I think he goes pro. It’s looking like he could be the 5th or 6th QB taken. That’s most likely as high as he will go unless he has a Birrow-esq year and I don’t see that happening. Some team will take a shot on him being another Lamar Jackson with his legs and use a 3rd or 4th round pick on him. As much as I love Nuss he may hold Walker off initially for playing time but he won’t be able to keep him on the bench long unless he plays lights out.

The goal was to redshirt this year to recover from an injury in HS and grow a little more. And then next year compete for the #2 and maybe even #1 spot depending on how the QB room shakes out and how he does in the offseason.
