I've never had a bad crab rangoon, even the ones at the 8 dollar China Buffet. Crab rangoons are ridiculous!

I support this thread but I have had a bad one. They’re bad. And they suck!

Nothing worse than getting hyped for a goon only to be severely disappointed.

I got some once that were filled with sweet cream cheese- it was very strange and off putting. Pretty much every other time, I dip them in my egg drop soup.

That's brilliant man! The answer was right there before my eyes all these years and I never realized it, but you are exactly right.

I don’t get the hype tbh. Everyone I have ever had is just mediocre. I’d much rather an egg roll, spring roll, or dumpling/potsticker for an appetizer

There is a Thai restaurant in Destin (trying to remember the name) that has my favorite. They are hand made, have fresh crab meat, and the filling has a curry-type seasoning. I could eat a dozen of them and ask for more.

ETA: Name is Real Thai Fusion in Miramar Beach.

I like them, but rarely think to order them. I feel like I order the Chinese food my family ordered growing up, and we never did rangoons. We were an egg roll family.

Same. Milk products are not found in Chinese cuisines, I suspect Rangoons are an American idea.
