Deep state would never allow Trump to get the marine out of Russia.

Wouldn't that be a Logan Act violation even as an ex Pres?

He'd get blasted for being in bed for Putin. Would be playing into the Democrats and media's hands. And Vlad knows that, so he would be go along with it.

And as Trump announces the freedom of said marine he offers an olive branch to the Biden administration to work as a arbitrator to bring peace to Ukraine and end the war.

If true, the haters will be more angry about Trump’s relationship with Putin than happy about a freed US Marine.

He was arrested and sentenced when Trump was in office. Only fitting they release him to Trump.

Sort of voids the argument that he and Putin were chums now doesn’t it.

But would someone with far more legal knowledge than me explain how this would be compatible with the Logan Act?

The Logan act has been violated repeatedly by Dems with no repercussions

The Logan Act is worthless and unconstitutional. No none ever invokes it because they don’t want it tested.

Came here to say this. Any conviction under it (won’t happen) would absolutely be overturned and the law struck down.

This would be a very hard thing to prove. The release of the marine doesn't undermine the authority of the United States. Trump could simply say his request was at the behest of the family.

It would never be prosecuted anyway, nor should it. I don’t care who is responsible as long as Americans get to come home.

I can see Putin thinking that this kind of move would cause conflict in the US. But frankly I don’t see it as causing conflict at all. It is always good when we successfully bring an American home. That would be the important thing.

But I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

In all likelihood this is just another Trump grift. He will probably announce a new commemorative coin we can buy for three times its value.
