I currently have owned 6” Thorogood moc toe with wedge sole.

I have had them for two years and like them but find they are uncomfortable when I’m on hard surfaces like concrete for more than a few hours.

I was considering getting a pair of Nick’s but not in a wedge sole.

My other thought was a Redwing boot.

Any opinions or assistance is appreciated.

I’m more office administration but get in the field daily for supervision. I’m on my feet for less than 5 hours a day.

Go to Rose Anvil on Youtube and decide what is good and what is not.

I’m outside less than this but I take my new balances off and put my Tony lama steel toes on and the TLs are more comfortable than the NBs.

I love my redwing. Definitely spring for the insoles.

The ratchet system has a lifetime warranty and my kids love to do and undo them when I get off of work. It’s the best system I’ve seen so far

If by field you mean down in the weeds: consider the process units. Acid will chew thru the high dollar boots about as fast as the less expensive ones.

Spend the $400 to get insoles from
The Good Feet store. Worth it.

If you don’t need steel toe I’ve been wearing the Redwing 866 for three years now and they’re as comfortable as a boot can get. Break in sucks but once you get past that they’re great and they hold up.

Have you tried a pair of quality insoles in the Thorogoods? I have them in mine, and wouldn't trade them for anything.

I've only had Georgia boots, the ratchet redwings and Irish setters. So far my favorite is the nonmetallic toe Irish setters made by redwing. Very light and comfortable. Georgia boots were very heavy.

Danners were more comfortable than my redwings. But my redwings lasted far longer than my danners.

King Toe with composite toes are my work boots now. I’m on my second pair. First pair lasted almost 4 years.

+1 for the Red Wings

I have the dynaforce and I abuse the shite outta them. They’ve lasted over a year and I plan on buying them again. They are made in the USA and I believe they are resoleable.

I had the thorogoods steel toe mocks as well and it was debilitating painful on my pinky toe and in-step. The Red wings are definitely more expensive but you get what you pay for.

ETA: Three things you don’t skimp on purchasing…

Tires
Work boots
Mattress

Tires because that’s the only thing keeping you on the road.

Work boots because you spend 80% of your day in them.

Mattress is where you spend the other 20% recharging 100% of your batteries.

Any of these recommendations water proof. We do landscape maintenance on cell towers and any wet grass/ground can soak the boots quickly. I am wanting a pull on boot, not lace up.
