outside of the US. If you decided to set up shop somewhere other than the US, where would you go, and equally important, why would you choose that location ?

If this was magic and I didn't actually have to jump through the hoops or bear the cost of doing so...

Probably some smallish town in Upper Austria, perhaps Budapest if I decided on a city.

Italy, Sicily in particular in a heartbeat. Their approach to life, family, food, etc is too hard to beat.

Never been outside of the U.S. so I have no idea.

But somewhere in Australia sounds nice.

Ecuador. But honestly, if you want to feel like you are out of the country while still staying in the country, move to AK.

Uruguay. It is 1/4 the size of Texas with a population of only 3 million. 2 million live in the capital, which leaves the rest of the country full of land and opportunity… no the economy is pretty shite but if I had a way to make money and didn’t mind being away from family I would buy a cattle ranch and live in the “interior” of the country.

It also has beaches and fancy communities of rich people if that’s what you’re into.

It was once the Switzerland of the americas… neutral and small with a free market. Socialists have helped ruin the economy but economy aside it is the best place to live in Latin America… and maybe even better than the US.

A couple places that come to mind...Provence, more specifically one of the small villages in the Luberon. Also Basque Country guzzling down Txakolina wine, barnacles and wonderful cuisine sounds nice. Those places seem to have life pretty well figured out. I didn't want to leave either place. Portugal is much more realistic and accessible for US citizens, so maybe the Azores.

San Francisco. It's cheap, clean, and the people are genuine and nice.
