So QB is THE hardest position to master. We sign a top 10 prospect. We decide to redshirt him to help him considerably with the transition process.
Kelly picks up an experienced QB in the portal, makes another guy whose been here a couple years the backup, and processes Brennen.

Pretty much a blueprint to develop a team moving forward. The caveat is that Kelly exceeds all expectations in year 1.

Cue the ignorant fans. They give up on Daniels who leads to an SECCG. Nussmeier is king until his next int, and people are already hating on Howard, who has not even shown what he can do.

How’s about everyone just trust the guy they are paying to make these decisions. Is that too much of a challenge?

For some on here, it’s darn near impossible. It’s ok to like both quarterbacks but that makes too much sense.

Daniels never developed into a passing threat, instead relying on his legs and eating 3-5 sacks per game and struggling to produce points. The best passing threat rode the bench all year until the last game and lit up the #1 defense for 300 yards and 2 TDs in a half. Kelly is a stubborn arse. Successful…but, stubborn.

Everyone should have an opinion, that’s what this site is all about. My problem is the idiots who turn it to player hate just to support their opinion. Ridiculous.

You are asking for far too much.

1: there are people here who have hated JD from day one. Many of the were Brennan fans who feel like JD was the reason Brennan left even though it was Brennan’s fault he showed up 35 pounds overweight.

2: there are people here who are still Orgeron apologist who will say that every decision BK makes is the wrong decision.

You do realize UGA could have named the score? Nuss looked great, but they did not game plan for him or his skill set, and they put reserves in. I personally liked him in there. It was nice to see us throw it down the field finally. But…..it was fools gold.

You are making a lot of speculations here but pointing them out is futile.

This is exactly what ND fans said and he can’t win the big games that matter.

This times 100000000.

It’s okay to see the benefits and limitations of both.

It’s not ok to say “Nuss would have done better than JD if he had started all year”. That is simply something you can not know. You can’t reverse time, change QBs and see how it would have played out. You can make speculations about it but speculating that it would have been a worse season with Nuss as starter is just as viable as speculating that it would have been better.

This. We’re not going to win a Natty with this guy.

We’ll be consistently in the 8-10 win range but no higher.

We’re paying a guy $100M to ignore special teams, line up in the gun on 4th and inches, and keep the best QBs on the bench.

Trust me, there are still a few here as well as a few who are butthurt we didn’t hire Napier.
There were a lot of people that did not care for the BK hire (even though he had the best resume out of any other viable candidates out there).

Yep !! But I think he can learn . Do you think he watched the Michigan vs OSU game ???
How did the perpetual #2 Michiganders beat OSU ?? Not by running , by slinging it .
( Unless they had a young Fournette ! )

I disagree. ND fans think they are better than what they are - ALWAYS.

FWIW - I don’t agree with them on him at all.

And ND has still yet to win “the big games” now that he’s gone. And you know what. I bet they never will. Why? Because the coach was never the problem at ND. It was lack of skill position talent. Particularly at wide receiver and defensive backs. They just can’t recruit the same caliber players as LSU. But what they did have was highly rated linemen. Especially O line.

Just because they’re insufferable doesn’t mean they’re wrong.

Look how after a terrible start Freeman is now winning and recruiting at or above Kelly’s level.

And to that point, Kelly actually recruited very well at ND and grossly overstated their talent issues to cover up his in-game coaching blunders and bad coordinator hires.

UGA did NOT back off scoring in the second half. They DID stop pressuring our qb which is one reason GN had free reign.

No he isn’t.

They went 8-4 this year.

Kelly was averaging 10 wins per season.

Right now they are ranked #3in recruiting. By the end of the recruiting season they will likely drop between 7 and 10 when transfers are taken into account. That’s about the level BK had them recruiting.
