Hard finding them In Hopedale. Rode out to Martellos castle and snagged about 20 big white trout on drop shot. A few other fish here and there but no bait in the water anywhere.

That makes me feel ok about not going. I saw the wind was low and loaded up the boat, but leaving my neighborhood I rode by the lake and couldn't see 30'.
Decided to just go have some fun on texas rigs in Bayou Lacombe.
Other than that, it was my birthday this weekend and a friend and I fished delacroix Friday morning. Rough trip, southeast winds all day, dirty as heck water.
Didn't catch anything until noon. Went to a very grassy bayou and threw some lures I've had for 30 years - HH tuxedo cocahoes. Went from a skunk to three reds, three bass and two trout in about half an hour.

That guy put out some quality YouTube Videos.

Jon is a great dude. I bought my boat (same model as his) after he let me, a stranger, go by his house to check his out.

I went to hopedale on friday. Struggled to find anything. Gave up throwing artificial and started dropping dead shrimp in deep holes.
Brought home:
8 white trout 10-14"
1 spec
5 blue cats 1.5-2lbs
1 channel cat 3.5lbs
Water wasn't terrible, almost no tide movement. Couldn't get a bite on plastic.

Fishing in Dulac was terrible this weekend. Foggy and not much tide.
Ended up with 40 trout, two over 20" and a 24" all released.

BSL … fog
Not sure what’s been going on, but it’s been rolling over from the Pass every day. Barely can see the marina entrance from Beach Blvd.

Fished BSL today and i have never seen fog like i did today! Unreal we fished this morning close to the camp and the fog was still limiting visibility at 4 PM
Took the kids over there yesterday afternoon to catch a few sheepshead. It was cleared off by then, but at noon, you could barely see the wager from hwy90.

Not all that uncommon for winter. Especially over the Bay. Air temp fluctuation and relatively shallow water. Same reason Lake Pontchartrain gets a lot of fog.

He’s the reason I bought my heron 16 lol. He’s a great angler and person

You got a heron? Damn, I'm kinda jealous.
I love the cayenne though, just wish I could handle a little bigger water and go a little faster.

Sounds like a good day. Glad you got on them. I don't know that area whatsoever. Friday was hit or miss for a lot of people in hopedale. Gonna try again this weekend, hopefully it goes better.

There are times where I wish the heron went a little faster because I travel a lot. I get to about 34mph with a tohatsu 60.
I forget all about that when I’m gassing up though lol

Hmmm, might want to page Elusiveporpi, They stroked them down there this weekend. Lizzo had to sit on top of the box of 85 to get it to close.

Yep. Haven't spent over 40 to fill it up, only have to fill up once a month. That's real nice.
I still don't know how Jon made it to the Chandeliers on his cayenne though. That is a haul.
Posted on 12/5/22 at 8:05 pm to dandyjohn
No way I would go to the Chandeleurs on a skiff. My 24' skeeter whooped my arse list time I went. Saw a dude in a polling skiff 30 mins before I left and it was 2-4' white caps when I went in. frick that.

Baws, I'm heading to the lake in a few minutes and my wife is going with me for the first time in 2-3 weeks. I can usually put her on good fish but I'm worried about today.
Weather is too warm today for this time of year and I'm going to have to run around searching for birds.
