Do all new cars have as many nannies as the GMC and Toyota that I recently rented?

2022 Yukon: Yelling at me to buckle up immediately, fussing if the tire pressure was barely below perfect, sending me messages on the screen to ‘keep my eyes on the road’, lane keep assist yammering at me
RAV-4: Even more beeps, brutal seatbelt chimes, Asking me every so often while driving ‘Do you want to take a break?’, cautious Adaptive Cruise Control that can’t be completely turned off
Any brands not as mothering all the time these days?
Looking to get into a 2023 Sierra but the fussing has me reconsidering.

How about buckling your seat belt.

Vehicles have gotten more annoying as time goes on. I borrowed a friend's Jeep while my truck was in the shop, and it has that option where the engine shuts off at stops, then restarts when the gas is pushed. fricking annoying.
Car companies really need to let the owners disable most of these so called safety and gas saving features. I've made through 30 years of driving and not dying without my car telling me to buckle up or that I can't play with the setting on the radio while the car is in motion.

How is it possible in 2022 that one doesn't buckle their seatbelt immediately on sitting down in the car?
Incessant seatbelt chimes have been a thing for like two decades now.

Agreed. I don't need all of that shite.

I recently bought a new car and it recommended i stop for coffee. What’s weird is that the seatbelt chime isn’t very aggressive and sometimes it doesn’t go off at all.

Just what you need during a car jacking.

If you are at the farm or hunting camp, you are not putting a seat belt on. Remember when you could turn it off by using a cheat code. Really sucks in these situations but l wear it every time I’m on the road

My 2017 Wrangler has NONE of it and I’m real excited about it. It did take some re-learning to getting used to not having a backup camera, but no screens, buttons, sensors, etc is

This is truly the absolute worst. I hate it.

The wife's new Elantra has all that stuff on it. Some of it I like, like the blind spot warning lights in the side mirrors. Other crap, like the shite that pulls you back into your lane if you go over the line a little bit I turned off quick.

Remember when you could turn it off by using a cheat code.
Cut out a spare buckle
Insert buckle
Profit

If the mirrors are properly adjusted, there is no blind spot.

I'm so tired of all the tech in cars I may find a mid 80's Bronco and put about $25k in it rebuilding everything.
I want a dependable truck that doesn't do all the unnecessary crap. I don't need heated cup holders or 27 cameras.
v8
4x4
good AC
power windows and locks
I might upgrade to a newer radio with Bluetooth.

Hyundai does the coffee thing, too.

I’ve put $10K in a 90s Tahoe and love it.

Incessant seatbelt chimes have been a thing for like two decades now.
They have successfully programmed the populace through sheer annoyance.
