I am not sure that this is the case. Had a friend who went through this with his oldest daughter some years back. It was a combination of factors that come to play. This guy had another daughter 2 years younger who was not in the least influenced .
Older daughter started developing physically late and was something of a loner who was self conscious. Got into a reddit chat room where this stuff was rampant. Basically there were all these people saying that if you did not feel comfortable in your own skin, it was probably because you had a male brain in a female body. They would actually back it with b.s. science from whack jobs from Europe that even the Europeans were not buying.

Questioning who you are has always been a thing with girls. The DS has only now made mutilation a cool thing to do and it is openly discussed and encouraged by morons.

I'm not saying this is related, but a society needs reproductively intact females to maintain/grow the population. With modern sensibilities having women defer having children until their 30s, limiting families to 2 children is often "the norm". That's extinction level birth rates as it is.
And then ask yourself, "Which populations of humans aren't doing this?" Because those will survive until the 22nd Century. Those doing what we're doing now will not.

Have said before, the default development is female. The y chromosome signals surges of male hormones during development to masculinize the body and brain, and there have always been more tg born male. Until the last few years. This is grooming. Young girls are more susceptible to peer pressure, social pressure, and group think. This is social engineering intended to break down society and assist with a global reset.
Will say that there are true tg that need help, but the explosion in surgeries, and rush to perform them, should be troubling.

Late 80s, I used to play with a barbie doll with my action figures, I just treated barbie as another superhero. Wasn't a big deal.
If I grew up in this era,and did that, I'd be told by multiple sources that I was really a girl trapped in a boy's body..and they would then start treating me as a girl. My 7yr old arse would probably be extremely confused and accept that belief, because I wouldn't know any better. I wouldn't have the wherewithal or cognitive ability to accurately rebuke motherfrickers who are paid to spew that shite.
