Maybe the criminals family member would like to take on the responsibility? Then, if he returns to a life of crime, they can both go to the farm.

I bet they would parent that bastard this time around.

Why let judges off the hook, gave him 40 years when maybe he should have had 2 life sentences... Why let voters off the hook, the death sentence is the only answer to everything.

Tchefuncte next to Money Hill are probably the two most heavily armed subdivisions in Louisiana.

That judge that gave the rapist the daughter he sired when he raped their mother needs to spend some time at Angola too.

Did they ever have the press conference? Or is it postponed indefinitely?

FWIW, it's Tchefuncta. The subdivision is spelled differently than the River. There are a couple of misspelled roads in Tchefuncta too. LOL...damn Shell engineers.

Tchefuncte has a Covington Municipal Address

"Municipal" implies it's in a municipality which Tchefuncta Estates is not.

The boundary of the city of Covington, for the most part, stops at the river's edge by the St. Tammany Parish Hospital. There are no City of Covington residents on the I-12 side of the river i.e. Winn Dixie, Academy, Flowers Estates, I-12, Sam's Club are not in the city of Covington.

Your address is a function of the post office that delivers your mail. It has nothing to do with whether you are in a city or not.

The best example I usually give is Metairie. Metairie is not a city. Its residents do not have a mayor or city council (like Kenner or Gretna, which are cities). Metaire is a post office, governed by unincorporated Jefferson Parish.

The city of Covington has about 11,000 residents. The zip code Covington (70433, 70435) has a population of about 60,000. About 50,000 people have Covington addresses but do not live in the city of Covington.

That said, if asked, they will say "I live in Covington." … and that's fine. But they actually live in unincorporated St. Tammany Parish.

The press conference about the double homicide was postponed by the PD Chief and the Mayor until the coroner completes his investigation. This morning would have been premature. From the Mayor's e-blast this morning:

quote:

PD would be prohibited from answering questions of which we know the answers. That would be awkward for us, unfair to the media and very frustrating to our citizens.

From the onset of this tragedy, I have only prayed that our lost ones did not suffer. Covington family, please keep on praying for our people, our community, and really everyone that we find grace and strength in these horrible times. God bless everyone!!

I have relatives that live in that area. There are places to rent across from Mirabo, and then there are the French Quarter style condos as well. I wonder if you can see into that lot from the upper floors from the condos in the tower by the river?

If only there was any way to know if he was voted out, or good-timed out. A system that keeps those records would be awesome. If he was voted out, those who voted to turn him loose on society should be held liable. Then they would be more careful, and make decisions that protect the public.

Not 100% sure, but it’s likely he was voted out by the parole board. I’d have to look up statues for sex crimes during thst time but most sex offenders have to serve 100% of their sentence. Only way to get out early is if they are paroled out.

The parole board is appointed by the democratic governor who is mandating to get as many as he can out. There have been several big stories of people getting life sentences and they are changing the rules to make them eligible so they can get out.

So if you voted for our current Gov, this is part of what you voted on. All democrats are soft on crime. Rarely did criminals get out early under Jindal. As much as I hated him.
