We will fix the secondary again through the portal. Man that is a pretty strong team returning.

That’s what a depth chart should look like when you have a competent coach and staff. I could see some O linemen transfer out now that WC and EJ have locked the tackle spots down for 2 more years. Even with that we still have good depth and a stud class on the way.

Are we saying for sure that Jay Ward won’t be back?

Only portal losses I can see on defense would be Raydar, McGee, or Penn.
OL would prolly take the brunt of transfers out with Hill, Martinez/Turner, Bradford/Thomas, Dumervil/Kimo all looking for PT and all but Kimo having made contributions in the SEC at some point.
Then there's Nussmeier - who hasn't exactly pulled up trees for PT. For my money, after the 4&8 game the backup QB at LSU becomes WH. He can play in 3 more games. Just sayin'.
So, we could have 4 or so guys leaving the OLignment. I'll guess the Coaches have plans one way or the other but not signing good players who are available - then possibly getting left at the alter when spring practice is over - ain't in the cards.

Why did Martinez play center the whole game against UAB…did Turner also have the flu? I might have missed earlier discussions about this..sorry.

Roy is gone after this year. Only weakness I see is that Nickel spot but we will have plenty of bodies to fill especially with this incoming freshman class. Also still not sure about our field goal kicking yet either.

Having a kicker that can boot it out of the back of the endzone is something that we sorely miss could have used this year.

What happened to the really good PK recruit that we got last year?

I think that is the Kickoff guy that is not kicking it out of the back of the endzone

Few changes.
1. Perkins will move to BJ’s Jack spot next year
2. The 2 starting LB will be Penn and Tolan
3. Derrick Davis Jr will be full time RB
4. One starting corner will come from the transfer portal
5. J Roy will go pro I’m afraid but Maason and Wingo will be dominant at DT
6. Dellinger will start over Frazier at LG
7. If JD5 comes back Nuss is gone and Walker is #2 QB even if Nuss stays

It’s all conjecture at this point.

EVERYONE is an unrestricted free agent.

I don't want to see that I think Perkins is an absolute freak and would hate to use him just around Line of scrimmage. I love him where he is he makes plays all over the field not just sacks.

Greg Brooks is listed as a senior so I’m not sure he has eligibility left. Is Garner going pro? I think he would be wise to come back for 1 more year.

Absolutely. (If he can stay healthy)

Go grab his little brother from Michigan State in the transfer portal too. Why isn't he at LSU already?

Update: I just checked and there is no Dellinger on the 2022 MSU roster. Either he's an incoming Freshman in 2023 or he didn't sign with MSU.
