LSU Athletics Mailroom...Joe Dean era. Witnessed the change from Archer to Hallman - oh those were the times! Mr. James may still be there.

I worked in the Infirmary as part of my scholarship making maybe $3.85 (minimum wage was $3.35). No interesting stories that I can remember. Ricky Blanton came in for a study one of the graduate students was doing.

I worked in Ichthyoplankton division of Wetlands Resources and our office was in Tiger Stadium. East side.

That was in summer of 1987

Worked in dairy science building my first year, then math tutoring in math lab 2nd year. After that it was the computer lab going around campus fixing computers and internet issues etc until graduation. The last job was my favorite. Met a lot of folks that way.

In the late 80s I worked for the Office of Campus Safety, drawing building fire escape route maps, inspecting campus sidewalks for slip, trip & fall hazards, testing fume hoods & safety showers and helping maintain the HAZ-WASTE barn. I enjoyed it, but moved on after graduating.

I worked at the Urec from 2012-2013 under Zach Wood. A few years later, he was riding his bike and got hit and killed by a car. Were you working under him when this happened?

Worked at the Urec as a scorekeeper for intermurals in the mid 2000’s. I remember scorekeeping a basketball game the night we beat Duke in the Sweet 16 in 2006. Place went crazy.

1973-74 - Cafeteria Staff - my dorm room was in Johnston but I forget the name of the dorm in the middle where the cafeteria was located (Was it Hatcher?). Anyway, I was the guy that accidentally turned over and spilled the full mop bucket in the middle of the breakfast serving period.

Worked for a Astronomy prof entering his star output data into a computer for the thousands of stars that he observed at an observatory in Chile. Each star had like a 12 digit output and after an hour your eyes would start watering . This was called a Chancellor’s Job or some such. Not fun, no window to look out.

I worked in the lsu bakery in the early to mid 80’s. Was a pretty good gig. You could pop in and out easily for classes. Smelled a little like bread in class though.

Yep worked in accounting services my first three years until my senior year classes were a bit more demanding. Shredding docs, filing, balancing/double checking ledgers. Fun times, worked with some great people

I worked in Ag Engineering 76-79. We were always building things for the Experiment Station. I remember one project was a mechanical tabasco pepper picking machine. We were trying to just pick the ripe ones using spindles with rubber fingers on them to run over the plants without damaging them and have the ripe ones fall into a conveyor belt. I always wondered if it ever made it to production.

I remember one of the guys working on it was a former chopper pilot from Vietnam. He had some great stories!

Not at LSU but in the early 70's my campus job was a janitor in the girls dorm. This was a religious campus and men were not allowed in the girls dorm so anytime I would go down a different hall or floor I had to yell "Man on 2 east(or whatever hall or floor I was on). This would be followed by the sound of slamming doors or running for those caught out in the hall. Although I yelled every time there would be those that didn't hear me because they were in the shower or drying their hair or just asleep. Daily I got to behold sights that I had only dreamed of. Don't remember what I got paid per hour because I never saw the money - it went toward paying for my student loan. Honestly I would have paid them for that job. Good times.

I spent one summer painting bathrooms in Kirby-Smith. It was weird and gross. One room we went into had weird symbols painted all over the walls.
