Why can’t people understand that abortion is a state issue?

I can see why voting for or against abortion in state elections is a legitimate issue. However, states are not supposed to push their views on other states. Why can’t people understand that? Are civics classes refusing to teach people about the 10th Amendment?

I don’t understand how it’s a health issue for women given that less that 1% are done for actual medical reasons and there are exceptions for that in every state.

In a true federal system, it should be.

The problem is that we have not had a true federal system for more than 150 years.

Thanks, Lincoln

The Left: Federal Government should control everything, States are just so we can post social media picture of our vacation for likes.

The Right: Ok we're in control now and want to decide what the federal government does.

Because GOP messaging on that issue was terrible. It continually came up in the senate debates and I don't recall any R candidate brush it off with: that has no relevance in this debate- that is a state issue where the voter has more power to control that issue (more democracy)

Because nobody understands basic civics anymore.....which is by design.

I’m constantly amazed at how people can so easily forget how stupid the typical American is.

It wasn't for 40-50 years. It was a right, protected across all 50 states.

People are going to react to that right being taken away, whether you like it or not.

It’s pretty easy to understand. The democrats have figured a way to get the 50% of the country that couldn’t be bothered to pay attention in their civics class to “participate” in actual civics.

Because the propaganda media which includes the MSM and social media tells them it's not.

And they believe them.

Dobbs decision was the correct constitutional ruling.

Doesn't matter.

Having the right to terminate a pregnancy after unfettered casual sex is what it's all about.

Reproductive health? GTFO of here. 1-2% of abortions at most.

And that's the cold hard truth.

Public education ! People are dumb and would rather be spoon fed by the media and The View than actually grasping The Court’s (correct) rationale for Dobbs!

Why push the issue, you realize without this you would have had a great night? Status quo on abortion was fine, but as always the fanatics push too far.

Its not that they don't understand that, its a strong political point to the ignorant, dumb, and political elite. In other words, it sounds good. Dems eat it up.

Because most don't take the time to understand or have it explained to them.

Because civics and the Constitution aren't taught anymore. Very few have a knowledge of (much less an understanding of) federalism.

Because Republicans are saying they want to ban it at the federal level.

Also, a lot of republican women had abortions and don't want it outlawed.
