Our kid just received an unsolicited EBT card on the mail.

Public school student. Looks like since they extended the free breakfast and lunch program another year to all kids, regardless of income ‘cause Covid’ he technically qualifies for summertime benefits since apparently the system is required to feed the kids breakfast and lunch year round now and this is supposed to cover it. Has anyone else gotten one of these? It’s got ‘LA Dept of Education’ all over it.

If you have a kid that’s enrolled in a school where all students receive free meals this year, you automatically qualify for that pandemic EBT card they just mailed out.

It’s done by parish. If your parish qualifies, you get it regardless of income level. This is our first year in public school, so I hope they renew it for next year!

We got two last year that we didn’t request. Called to see if it had a balance and it had like 1200$ on it. Not gonna act like I took the high road.
