I’m curious as to what you guys think is Saban’s game plan in regard to defending Daniels next Saturday

Stomping up and down the sideline screaming at anyone within earshot.

Sell out to short passing game and run...make Daniels best him down the field, just like Tenn. Bama has the corners to go man and JD isn't exactly accurate down the field...at least he hasn't been.

He found a way to defend Burton so I'm sure he'll figure out how to defend Daniels.

He's going to sit Burton next to JDs mom and he'll slap her every time JD breaks a tackle. Mafia style.

Seriously tho, I think they'll spy JD until they see how our OL handles the DL.

If JD runs the RPO correctly and is hitting receivers downfield.

He can’t be stopped tbh.

Will Anderson targeting on the 1st series that doesn’t get called and gives JD a concussion

Mush rush. When Saban's teams face a true dual threat QB they play very conservatively on the edge as not to allow a lane for the QB up the middle. This LSU team is getting into the territory of being a very dangerous team to stop where it puts defenses into severe conflict. My guess is Alabama will play a 4 man front playing contain with lots of max zone. They want to force Daniels to beat them throwing it. The key to the game will be to run early and often to set up some PA shots. Putting the safeties and LBs into conflict will be paramount.

Controlled pass rush, except for W. Allen who will try to tee off on a FR OT. They'll have a designated body at the line on some plays looking for the QB run.
Their DB's will be in our face, it is their bread and butter. They did it in 19. They want to knock you off your route and not give the QB a clean look while hoping the pass rush gets to him.

OL needs to say early and often, 'not today'.
Keep JD clean and give the RB's a crease to make plays and keep us in manageable downs/distances. JD needs to continue to trust his arm and our receivers. Boutte, Nabers, BT and M. Taylor need to play HUGE in this game.

I assume he'll do what he has evolved into doing against dual threat quarterbacks, namely, use Anderson to flush and the weak side Linebacker to spy. He'll likely also play a very aggressive zone on short to intermediate routes.
