Beat up and harass Brice Young like we did to Dart. Hit him hard and early and keep it coming. Perkins needs to spy Brice and Baskerville needs to be in Gibbs’ pocket. Daniels needs to keep slinging it and our WRs need to catch everything. Our D will need to score or set up scores. Special teams needs to just not play like they’ve played most of the year.

Dart was shredding us with that stuff until we finally started getting pressure on him. That's going to be key with Bryce Young too. Can we get pressure. And even if we do, he's one of the best I've seen at avoiding the rush outside the pocket and keeping the play alive until a receiver breaks open.

I agree 100%. It’s not enough to just play contain, because Young and Alabama’s receivers are good enough to punish us if he can sit in the pocket.

It’s not enough to just get in the backfield either. You don’t want him rolling out and extending plays, which will force our DBs and LBs into impossible situations.

You have to get real pressure, which means getting into the backfield and actually bringing him down. Once he starts feeling that pressure, that’s when he will start making mistakes (either forcing throws or bailing too soon). We have to knock him off of his rhythm. If we blitz him, we have to get to him. As you said, they’re more than capable of burning you on the short stuff otherwise.

It’s easier said than done. I think a lot will come down to the play of our front 4. BJ is going to need to play a great game.

I’d refer to last year’s LSU game, don’t let Young be comfortable.

Long offensive drives to keep Bryce off the field and wear down that BAMA defense

Perkins is different. And the sack on that one play on dart where he missed at first is a prime example. 99% of guys would have been out of the play after missing. Perkins sped up as he missed changed direction in the blink of an eye and caught him. I don’t like playing contain on him bc then you just give him time to throw. I trust Perkins to rush young and out the pressure on him knowing if he does miss he’ll still be right there in his face l.

They're gonna pressure JD, count on it

Our OL must protect and he's got to find guys quicker.

But Perkins has to be in the game from the start. Ole Miss stopped scoring when he got in.
Also hoping to see John Emery play; they said his knee kept him out against Ole Miss. but he's a senior now and needs to get playing time; he's supposed to be good and he has shown it a few times.
Hopefully the qb will pass well....

Our offensive line is starting to do well now that both tackles are healthy.
