They constantly leave you hanging.
For instance they will report on the agenda for a council meeting, and then fail to report on what happened with those issues the following day.

Oh for the halcyon days when BRAC would take canvas trips to cities BR aspired to become. Weeks of softball stories and self important daydreams while standing on the shoulders of giants.
You can't sell tables to sponsored events running investigative journalism targeting an infrastructure project gone awry - that's the target customer.

So why did Broome pull this off the docket?
Well, you see, it’s like this,
From the honorable and always honest SWB:
quote:
Unfortunately, an assessment of that information and that which has come to light today, has led me to the conclusion that I was misinformed regarding the federal involvement related to the NDA.
I want the citizens of Baton Rouge to know that my first option is never to place undue financial burden on them or to be less than transparent.
To that end, I am asking that this matter be removed from the council agenda until we obtain the full facts and that the metropolitan council join me in seeking answers from the parish attorney’s office and staff of the Office of the Mayor-President.
I want to ensure you I have always, and will remain committed to be, honest, open and transparent with the public on any matter relating to City-Parish government.
And if you believe that shite, you’ll also likely believe that Murphy Paul is an effective crime fighter.

She was so "misinformed" that her office spent God knows how much money on a turn-key website to attach these stormwater fees to your upcoming property taxes. That wasn't just mayor's office intern Shaquita slapping a GoDaddy under construction website together. That shite was ready to bill and collect.

The revenue was just going to replace money that was going to be used for police bonuses and to payouts for votes. She got caught, but looters still have to loot.

If this were some parts of the world, her hand would be on the chopping block as of now.

except this one time when I wasn't but that's like the city parish attorney's fault, not mine.

This
and yet it was only presented to the public within a few weeks of city council vote because the feds were about to swoop in.

Lets see if there is a scathing editorial in the BR Business Report.
No way John Spain and Rolfe McCollister let that happen. They’re the reason Broome is there in the 1st place.

And outlets like that will tell you with a straight face that they're objective journalists

Remember: St. George organizers got their legal advice from Sharon Weston Broome. When they say "we were told we needed to incorporate" they are talking about when SHE said that. lol

And she insisted that it wasn’t the case once she realized that statement would massively bite her in the arse.

Right, but how dumb are St. George organizers for getting their legal advice from SWB and then repeating it as if it were the gospel? You'd think they'd have their own lawyer verify it. They're no better than WAFB.

As a member of the House of Rep SWB blocked the SG school district. They got close getting their district, but they couldn’t quite get the necessary votes in the legislature to fund it . SWB at that time told them they needed to form a city as Central had.
The organizers took her at her word then, but they had no way if knowing she would become mayor and with the help of her people and downtown interests she would be able to block the city even after a duly constituted election.
Were the organizers dumb? No. Were they politically naive? Certainly, but they had no way of knowing just how corrupt politics were in EBR.
Now they know as we all know now. Nothing SWB says can be taken at face value. She tried here to pull a fast one over on the public. No doubt she did that before. She’s no rookie. I wouldn’t trust anything she had said about SG, crime, her street plan, or any of her other plan either.
