Poll: Most Voters Oppose Efforts to Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles
quote:

A new poll conducted by the Convention of States and the Trafalgar Group found that an overwhelming plurality of voters do not support measures to ban gas-powered vehicles, even though Joe Biden has voiced his support for such laws.

quote:

The poll found that among Democratic respondents, only 3 percent voiced support for banning gas-powered cars. Among Republican voters, 0 percent of respondents supported this option.

Laws to ban gas-powered cars are already being implemented in the state of California, which is seeking to phase out all gas vehicles in the state over the next few years. The plan has drawn widespread criticism for its lack of feasibility, with the forced transition leading to an energy crisis in the state that has seen the statewide power grid come to the brink of collapse.

And this poll was conducted before horrible performances were delivered by EVs like the F-150 Lightning pickup and Hummer EV on popular YouTube channels went viral.

Guess what? You're going to get it anyway because the government has long stopped being about the will of the people.

It's almost like, one of the greatest man made inventions responsible for revolutionizing the world and shorten our reach to others around the world, the combustible engine, wasn't such a bad idea, no matter what some leftists says.

The F-150 lightning can’t tow without nuking it’s range on Hoovie’s Garage. Like it’s less than 1/3 of normal range.

And the Hummer EV went into safe mode when testing at TFL and it took them a while to figure out how to boot it because the owners manual is digital.

So not only are these new EV’s complicated, but they can’t tow anything. Given than pickups are a huge portion of new vehicles in American roads, that’s a problem.

Typical OT response will be that 99% of pickup owners do not use their trucks as intended to two and/or haul anything so that’s a non factor.

The poll asked its respondents the question of “What do you believe is most likely to provide America with reliable, long-term energy independence?”

With a margin of error of 2.9 percent, over 40 percent of the poll’s respondents said that “increasing domestic oil and gas production” is the best solution. By contrast, just 25.5 percent answered with “focus new energy investments on renewables like solar and wind.” Only 1.4 percent of voters said to “eliminate gas-powered vehicles and move to electric.” The poll found that among Democratic respondents, only 3 percent voiced support for banning gas-powered cars. Among Republican voters, 0 percent of respondents supported this option.

This is might be the most horribly misleading thread title of all time.

Morons in Cali banned diesel burning motors in semis as well - there is absolutely no infrastructure to support the long haul industry and wont be for at least a decade.

But hey, don't let that get in the way of feel good smug af legislation

Didn't CA leave a loophole that would allow plug-in hybrids once the law goes into effect?

This poll is weird and why I find most polls to pretty much useless

Not that I believe a majority of people are for banning gas vehicles, but according to this poll, 11.7% of Republicans do support it, as they answered "All of the Above" to the question, which would include "eliminated gas powered vehicles"

You don't need marijuana to drive to work or get groceries or take your kids to school.
