Her playing the flute doesn't bother me. The Librarian was off stage and it was only out of their possession for a minute or two.

What I don't get is. If you have this 200 year old flute and you want to hear it for the first time. Wouldn't it be better to let a classical flutist in an orchestra solo on it?

Though more people heard it this way and it became viral. So if it's about to go on display then at least people know it exist. As much better as it would have been if the pops had it or there was some Kennedy or Lincoln center concert. This may have been the intent.

As far as "body shaming". Women invented that shite. Not men. Men used to not give a frick. Go look at pictures.
Women got all caught up in looks and body image. Then men raised their ideals to that level.
What's fricked is if a guy calls Lizzo fat she's "body shaming".
Yet how many women want to date big fat men?

I get the hate for her but I just watched a video of her playing a flute somewhere more formal and she’s actually really good. Commence the downvotes.

The societal issue raised by the photo isn't the misuse of the flute. It is the fact that a morbidly obese woman is wearing next to nothing on stage (she should wear a muumuu) as her fans celebrate "body positivity."

Being overweight is a huge health issue. Ignoring our obesity problem under the guise of "body positivity" is a disgrace.

When I had my giant kidney stone, almost everyone in the doctor's waiting room was significantly overweight. When my SO had to have surgery to repair an inguinal hernia, the surgeon remarked to me that he didn't work on a lot of slender patients LOL.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t understand the outrage here.

There’s no outrage. Stop being hyperbolic. We are just saying it’s weird that our society celebrates trashy behavior and that our government agencies are involved in promoting it for social justice points.

It’s not “weird” that our society celebrates “trashy behavior.” Brother, that’s been the norm for some time now.

Secondly, what social justice “points” were scored by, well, anyone by allowing her to play the flute?

Third, if you think there’s no outrage in this thread, I can’t help you. Scroll back a few pages and you’ll see people arguing about constitutional rights in a thread about an entertainer playing a flute.

There was one guy doing that to deflect from the story. Pretty sure he's just a troll.

How much shite do we collectively know because we read it on here?

I mean, like how Marshal law is named after Thurgood Marshall.

Or how Poon Lim survived 133 days alone at sea
