The way Catholic managed the end of the game was tough to watch. Run into a brick wall, punt then prevent defense and a 42-22 lead turns to 42-36 very quickly. Sampson bailed them out again.

Benton blowing out Byrd. 7 first half td passes.most in the 1st quarter

I got out the car and it was like 49-27 Benton in the 3rd quarter. They rushed Byrd qb to er I’d love to get an update on his status

No update, but I heard they had EMS and doctors tending to him ASAP on the field.

I don’t know if that’s good or bad news, but at least he had qualified medical personnel taking care of him immediately after his injury.

That QB beat us in every possible way tonight… short passes, long passes, runs, eluding pressure, option pitches… and their team didn’t give us much to work with like Patterson did. They might make a run in 3A whatever division they are

But we had a chance on offense down 2 and we went down running the Wildcat… didn’t trust Couvillon and there’s some things he has to work on, but great potential there. Their D line was better than I thought they’d be. Our offense at its best can control a game, but it fails when we get physically manhandled and when we need a lot of points in a hurry

Once again sone questionable play calling. We had all the momentum and WR getting open all over the field, so we run 3 gap of wildcat for four plays.

On to district. Still think we are the best team in our dustruct and should win it and then go on the road in the first round.

The Bogalusa QB might be the best dual threat junior in the state,

To be fair Ruston has had bad luck in recent years with bad calls. This year, first game against Warren Easton, star RB got ejected after a TD at beginning of game for just throwing the ball up in celebrating. That was at Ruston

Can’t get dq for 1 uns,

He’s getting more comfortable every game. Had two sure TDs dropped. Hopefully coaches will continue to develop his 7’step drop. Constantly rolling him out is taking away half the field.

But is it really a "victory" if you live in Bogalusa?

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of fans they brought.

Then I remembered they probably want to leave Bogalusa every chance they get.

They are lucky they didn’t blow that game. Makes no sense what those coaches did. Nearly cost them the game

A lot of what our fans want to see just isn’t in the playbook IMO…

I think 7-3 and we’ll have the power points to host… Patterson and Bogalusa are light years past Higgins and Riverdale and Lakeshore will only get better

I was born there. Escaped with family when I was 7. Only went back to go to funerals, last of which was in 2008. The place is depressing. And smelly.

Catholic made a bunch of questionable coaching decisions and got bailed out by talent? Absolutely shocked

But doesn’t them being in 3A hurt us for power points?

No

No one gets hurt by playing down. They can only get helped by playing up. And 5A teams can’t play “up”
