but honestly Boise was kicking OU's arse up and down the field all game.

It was one of those games where OU didn't really care because it wasn't a title game and b/c of their opponent

When OU finally woke up, they dominated and roared back. It's more a case of Boise being lucky OU spotted them so much by not giving a shite.

Big teams not giving a shite in BCS bowl games when they fell short was common. That's how Utah beat Bama's arse that one year, for example.

Wasn't Nutt at Idaho and scaring the shite out of SEC teams like LSU. Not beating them but scaring the shite out of them.

Before that game I explained to a friend at length why it was a complete waste to let a small school play in the BCS because they could never compete with a big conference team. Had to hear it from him the next day even though he didn’t care about college football. Turned out I didn’t know everything as a young man.

That 2010 Nevada game ending was so awesome. Boise State fans were about to string up ole baw after that game for missing 2 20 something yard field goals to blow the perfect season

One of those rare "where were you when" games and didn't matter who your home team is. I was in Colorado on a ski trip.

Sitting at home watching the game and pulling for BSU. What a game and what an ending.

Watched it at 6 AM wasted in my buddy’s living room in Europe after we’d gotten out all night lol, what a game.

Excuses piling up for big teams when they lose bowls is common. It's how they convince themselves they didn't really lose.

The old WAC from 2000ish to 2011ish was some damn good football.

Which year was that?

2001, with David Carr at QB. They were ranked #8 when Boise beat them.

BYU was very good the same year and was actually undefeated much longer than Fresno, but their schedule was much weaker. IIRC Gary Crowton even suggested the BCS should be sued if his team went undefeated and didn't go to a BCS bowl.

They ended up getting blasted by Hawaii in the last game of the season to end the BCS talk. Hawaii also beat Fresno the week after Fresno lost to Boise, which allowed Louisiana Tech to win the WAC.

Wasn't this board all up in a tizzy rooting for them to lose every week?

Nevada-BSU in 2010 when Nevada stormed back and Brotzman choked was one of the greatest MSB threads of all time.

Perfect way to describe that game, everyone remembers where they were.

This is a cop out. All BCS games were a big deal.

They had a couple teams in that run that were legit top 5 teams in America.

Also were producing NFL talent during that stretch. Truly wild.

Never forget, Northwestern State won their last 3 games against Boise, completely ran them out of 1AA
