Lol, you are over the top…. That was ONE series, come on man. Throughout every year for that past several years it seems as though either the hitting is kicking butt and pitching and fielding are struggling or the pitching is doing great and we can’t get runs. You must not watch very much softball.

Alea is talented, I imagine a very good P5 program will take a chance on her. Her K/BB was not good but had good movement on her pitches and a lot of potential. Disappointing though if she is gone. They will definitely have to hit the portal for another pitcher now

Does anybody have verification that Alea Johnson is in the transfer portal? I would be surprised that she is in the portal since Beth has said on several occasions she is the future of our pitching staff along with Sydney Berzon.

I don't have access to the portal, but there's nothing on any of her social media. That would indicate it at this point.Maybe if she is she's trying to keep it very quiet

Side note, its been interesting to see many prominent P5 programs letting go of some of their assistants with the third position opening soon.

There aren’t any coaches like Patty Gasso out there. I will say that Beth coaching career at LSU is somewhat similar to Patty’s at OU. Patty made 5 consecutive WCWS appearances (including a championship) then missed the WCWS for 6 straight years before she turned OU into a juggernaut.
I have my frustrations with Beth as well but compared to what’s out there, she’s one of the top coaches in the sport. The other top coaches aren’t leaving their programs for LSU. We just have to hope that Beth starts making the right decisions with her staff.

It would seem that Beth making changes with her staff would be a great step forward as something needs to change.

A friend of mine has access to the portal and she said that Audrey Johnson from LSU entered the portal on June 6. That has to be Alea since that is the only Johnson we have on the team. Beth should have pitched her more this year and she might have stayed with LSU. I just hope she doesn't go to Alabama. She might follow Lindsay Leftwich to NC State or maybe Auburn is another possibility.

I don't know that I really LOVE the idea but, Bianka Bell is recently unemployed. Maybe Sandra Simmons and Bell could bring back some of that '15-'17 magic?

Bryce is considered a talented up and coming young hitting coach so if they are bringing him its to help develop hitters and the offense at this point. He does coach defense but mostly focuses on hitter development. A hire like that tells me Torina is seeking more help in that department.
Louisville saw significant improvement in their hitters the two years he was there.
2021 (Prior to arrival): Team .250 BA, 40 doubles, 10 triples, 39 home runs and 166 RBIs
2022 (1st season): Team .278 BA, 74 doubles, 18 triples, 56 home runs and 250 RBIs
2023 (2nd season): Team .319 BA, 60 doubles, 20 triples, 60 home runs and 304 RBIs

Doesn't do LSU any good. This means she is probably going to Creighton, Omaha or Nebraska. Anyway, thanks for the link.
