Nothing like clean underwear and cold beer after dealing with a hurricane. In this it’s “why not both” applies here

Rooftop shots coming from Fort Myers and there's debris everywhere but that particular shot looked like everything held up pretty well

The issue in Fort Myers is going to be the surge damage, not the wind. Reports yesterday were over 7 feet of urge, that's pretty much having to gut every single structure's first floor, and making sure no load bearing damage.

Twitter claims it’s part of Hooters.

Watching helicopter footage over Fort Myers and Sanibel. The bridge is breached in at least 4 places. It’s pretty bad. My heart goes out to everyone.

Looks like flights to south Florida are still a go for the next few days. I was expecting cancellations.

Lee County (Ft Myers) with hundreds dead per the police chief.

Seems hard to believe even with the damage they got

Does anyone have a link to a rainfall totals map? Interested in how much rain has fallen in the Daytona Beach/ New Smyrna Beach area.

Things might get tricky if it goes a little further out over water gets back to a strong 2 and slams into SC.

Bonita Springs is in Lee County and the surge there pretty much leveled the place, with lots of single story homes. We have at least one poster here that lives there and stayed. Bonita Springs was ground zero for the surge, so it would not surprise me at all by those numbers. Few people left that area.

That’s pretty much the story everywhere. We’re still waiting to hear if we got water damage last night. Have any of you heard of secondary surge damage? We’re unable to connect with neighbors who stayed.

I’m going to drive over tomorrow or Saturday to get eyes on my house and to grab more clothes if I have any to grab.

Sheriff corrected that and said he meant possibly that many. They can’t even know that yet.
