From the people living where I do, they rarely lose power. Some of them have been here 25 years and said they cant remember ever losing power longer than a few hours during storms. I hope that continues

They have also never seen a storm this size.

Yeah I’m 80 miles from the coast and when Laura came ashore, she frickED UP my town. It was still a cat 3 when it came through here. They had to rebuild our entire electrical infrastructure. No one is safe 25 miles inland.

This Justin Michaels guy on TWC is annoying. He is the perfect illustration of a TV news goob.

Only closed 8 times since 71. I hope they don’t because I’m headed there now Wednesday night. If they cancel my flight I’m driving in. Wife is sold on going so my daughter can see the Halloween party.

I wish there were a better option. Really the only alternative is streaming local news. DirecTV has the Accuweather channel but it sucks.

Filing for divorce would be less stressful.

Yeah, but that's because of the rarity of a direct impact to Kissimmee/St. Cloud/Lake Buena Vista. But there's a real good chance that this area gets a pretty significant system like the ICON was showing. You don't want to be hanging out there in a Cat 2. That's just dumb, baw. Grow a set and tell your wife to kick rocks. Re-schedule it for Christmas or something.

Anyone have a good site for live traffic cams or traffic info for Florida turnpike or I-75?

I mean you are looking at 80% chance of tropical force storm winds for the better half of a day.

Better safe than brave Drew. GTFO. Your pride isn’t worth it.

Shutters mean nothing with storm surge.

I'm not being prideful, we are about 7 miles inland, not in an evac or flood zone, and we are on a hill that drains into a pond.

More than any of that though, I work at a Hospital and am part of a hurricane team, couldn't evac even if we wanted to.

Praying for everyone that has to ride it out.

Sometimes you have to make the best of a bad situation. Before you go, give him your GoPro and your mobile hotspot.
