So one game under a new coach and you're done with Nuss?

Nuss is transferring at the end of this year

Really? And where is he going? Exactly what program is looking for a second string, underperforming backup who is interception prone and won’t play in your bowl game?

No. Daniels already looked nicked up in his first SEC game. We almost have to assume he will get injured at some point with the amount of running he is doing.

Nuss will have to come into a game and play consequential snaps at some point so get him the experience.

Nope. GN needs every rep he can get.
If we end up with Howard under Center then we've had significant problems and have already gone through GN.
A couple snaps vs a lesser opponent won't be enough to have done any good when he's facing SEC defenses.

Daniels has never had the quality of receivers he has now. He does not appear to trust their ability.

Stay on him, Coach!

At this point I say we stick with the plan -- Daniels, Nuss, and Howard, in that order, so long as it's working and our hand isn't forced. We definitely looked awful against FSU but our improvement since then has been remarkable.

Who knows, UCF, SMU, Houston. Something of that caliber.

You give snaps to whichever QB is #2 on the depth chart. It’s as simple as that.

If Howard has surpassed Nuss on the depth chart (which would mean he is prepared to burn his redshirt if Daniels goes down) then it’s Howard. If Nuss would be our QB in the event that Daniels goes down next week, you let Nuss play.

That being said, it’s certainly possible that they both get reps if the game is clearly over. That’s great if it happens, but I don’t know that you can go into the game counting on it. The most important thing is that we give reps to the next guy on the depth chart.

Just Stop. Of course not. Nuss needs as much work with the 1st unit as humanly possible

Nah, Daniels a quarter, Nuss a quarter, Howard a half.

I’d honestly rather just give JD the night off but I know they won’t do that.

Nuss needs to play. I think Nuss is ok but presses. Give him some time to learn that’s not needed

New Mexicos defense is going to give LSU some problems. Their offense is terrible so the defense should be ok but don't be surprised if this game is only like 17-3 or something at half.

But if Howard really is as advertised, why delay the inevitable?

Get him as many snaps as possible in 4 games this year, plan for him to start 23 and 24, and hope he sticks around for 25.

I don’t like it at all but if he lights it up we’ll be fighting to keep him for his rsJr year

The more I watch Daniels, the more I get concerned about the drop off to 2nd string Since Daniels is fairly thin and he’s taking a beating. I’d be surprised if he didn’t miss time due to injury.

I need to see more from Howard in order to feel better about things because what I saw from nuss is just not comforting at all
