Xi Jinping has commanded military to be capable of taking Taiwan by 2027

Chinese President Xi Jinping has told his military that he wants to have the capability to take control of Taiwan by force by 2027, per CIA Deputy Director David Cohen—but, he said, the IC does not currently believe that Beijing has made a decision about whether to proceed.
“He has not made the decision to do that, but he has asked his military to put him in a position where if that's what he wanted to do, he would be able to. It's still the assessment of the IC as a whole that Xi's interest in Taiwan is to get control through nonmilitary means.”
It’s the big silver lining to Russia invading Ukraine that it’s making the Chinese take a step back and reevaluate taking Taiwan. It’s a much, much more difficult invasion than Ukraine. Like Hannibal Crossing the Alps level of difficulty. The Taiwanese will know and see everything before it happens and the assault will be amphibious. So I guess good news here that they’re going back to the drawing board after Xi and Putin met.

He's high as a kite if he thinks his forces will ever be able to take Taiwan, especially if the US decides to dump money into defense of it like we have Ukraine

We’ve armed Taiwan way more heavily than we’ve armed Ukraine. In the very least we have a detailed list of their arms and where they are. Taiwan is the crown jewel of the world, and even if we don’t recognize them in name, we do in our actions. It’s why in the OT when they question what I’m willing to sacrifice for Taiwan, I tell them it’s irrelevant since everything is completely out the window if China should invade Taiwan. It would then become hyperinflation and scarce resources worldwide, so it really doesn’t matter what we think at that point, it’s war.

Well that’s not the issue since they have plenty of young single men. No, it’s more the boats and logistics of doing it. Those boats crossing over to Taiwan are sitting ducks and will be destroyed en masse. There will be Chinese corpses washing up all over the shores of both China and Taiwan if China were to do this. While it’d be much more targeted and strategic than what we’re currently seeing in Ukraine (ie no carpet bombings), it’d be much more bloody and graphic should China ever attempt to invade Taiwan.

with minimal economic pressure from the west, the CCP wouldn’t exist in 2027. they’re finally blowing up the ghost cities that helped inflate their economy for decades

This is 2017-2020 speak.
Presently under this shite weak idiotic presidency they’d roll in unopposed and any American citizens speaking out against it would be raided by the fricking FBI. Garbage world the leftist Marxists have created.

Xi Jinping will end up being assassinated or overthrown by 2027, with China becoming a more open society.
I think you're about to start seeing a massive political shift inside China. Not necessarily aligning with the West, but more oriented towards pushing its footprint across the globe. You're not fully doing that under current regime.

It's all theater, and more money laundering. Y'all think we will defend Taiwan?

No way they could hide the invasion force necessary to do this from our satellites. Taiwan will have a heads up from us and smoke them. China would have to carpet bomb the entire island and kill everyone before even landing a boat on the shore to have a shot of invading successfully. Amphibious invasions are exponentially more difficult than land ones. I give you Japan. Never conquered in over 2,000 years until Uncle Sam came along with enough serious firepower relative to Japan to accomplish parking the USS Battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
The Japanese culture developed their unique society precisely because they were not successfully invaded over thousands of years. They did kill each other but that’s another story. The US did beat them and look at them now compared to before 1945.

This is the problem with dictators. No one will ever tell them their ideas are stupid. Just as…
Putin thought he could roll right over Ukraine
Hitler thought he could fight on two fronts
Stalin thought he could increase the grain harvest
Castro thought he could maintain, or increase, the sugar cane harvest
Saddam thought he had WMD
Xi thinks he can build an invasion force to take Taiwan in 5 years. And no matter how improbable, his yes-men will tell him it’s coming along fine. That’s why this is so dangerous. No matter what, in five years Xi will think, “We got this.” Because if anyone tells him otherwise, that person will be disappeared.

Taking Taiwan and it being worth your while due to the cost are two different things

They say it’s a pretty valuable little ole island. It’s plays a substantial role despite the constant fear of it tipping over.
But really, I don’t mind voicing my doubt as to Xi Dingaling being anywhere near truthful about this. Why in heaven’s would they want to make an actual accurate and truthful announcement like this? IMO the truth is probably closer to their being more or less “ready” right this moment as opposed to this 2027 business. The basis of such a strategy would be to lull folks into a false sense of “aw hell, we got plenty of time ‘til we need to get ready ourselves”.
A wildcard that I believe plays a role in the true plans and intentions of the Chinese is the possibility of a Trump return to office.

All this tells me is that they have given up on taking over Taiwan.
If China doesn’t strike under the totally weak pro-China administration we have now, they have wasted their best window.

I think they’re becoming more and more convinced that Trump is likely to be the next President in office. If China were to try to snatch up Taiwan, it wouldn’t be a cakewalk and in all likelihood they wouldn’t have gained full control by the time Trump were to be inaugurated, thus presenting a dilemma for him: to jump on China’s arse or not to, in order to restore proper world pecking order. IMO Trump would warn China to pull out voluntarily, or Trump will do it for them. Thry don’t wanna tangle with him, it’s a known fact.
Just the possibility of Trump being re-elected in 2024 is influencing them right now.

Same shite happens in the workplace and bad decisions are made.
Whenever someone works under me, I tell them very clearly that when I ask, I want them to tell me what their opinion is/what they think and don’t sugar coat it. I don’t need smoke up my arse. I can’t make good decisions unless I get truthful input.

Fixed it for you. That said, the Red Chinese may be able to successfully reacquire Taiwan before 2027, given current geopolitical developments.
