They don’t need to invade. All they have to do is blockade them. He can take that island by sitting there and not firing a shot. It would be over in months.

Taiwan needs to go all Swiss Army style in its military.
In 2003, the population of Switzerland was around 8 million. At times, when the Swiss population was in the four million range, they could field half a million trained and well armed men in a matter of hours thanks to the fact that troops keep their military arms, ammunition and gear at home.
Taiwan's population is about 24 million.

Carpet bombing defeats the entire purpose of the invasion. Russia is not after Ukraine’s infrastructure. China very much is after Taiwan’s though and don’t want to sabotage really any of it. You might see some targeted strikes, but there sure as shite will be no carpet bombing in Taiwan should China invade.
