Texas peeps, WTF with the Michelada?

I’ve seen so many people destroy their beer with this. Comes as a shot in the bottom of the glass, then you add beer to it.
Not willing to ruin my Bud heavy. Seriously though, what the hell is it?

Its shitty beer so I'm not offended by it. Ive tried Micheladas, about 25 years ago, and they aren't for me.

Michelada's are fricking awesome...
...as long as you get one properly done.
Most places suck at it.
Go to Mambo Paria in Houston and get one....

The point of a michelada is to get you back right when you're hung over or dehydrated from work.
You learn quick around a jobsite, if you want to keep going in the summer, slam a michelada and 3 tacos.
The second I started eating and drinking like the crews, I was able to work just as much(but not nearly as fast)

Raw oysters and a modelo michelada at captain toms in Katy is pretty legit

Captain Tom's off of 1960 near Jones has been making great Micheladas for years. They have their own handcrafted mix and they will add an oyster if you want some extra protein in your beer.
