Are gun owners who leave pistols in their car partially responsible for gun violence?

Having a discussion with a buddy regarding the contributors to gun violence in our country. He argues that around 25% of car break-ins result in a stolen gun - and that gun owners who leave their pistols in their vehicles are partially responsible for gun violence in america. What does the OT think?

I thought victim blaming was a bad thing?

It’s 50/50 between gun owners leaving guns in vehicle and people allowing themselves to be shot.

I guess 25% of rape is a womans fault for wearing revealing outfits or whatever

No, but it does make them irresponsible gun owners.

No. The criminal who breaks into said vehicle to steal shite is responsible.
I leave a pistol in my car sometimes, but it's concealed. Someone would have to break in and search hard for it. That's on the criminal. I'm breaking no laws by leaving a concealed weapon in my vehicle.

Paying shitty people to have babies bears the most responsibility.
Build more prisons, end all welfare and I can safely leave my gun on the front seat if I want.

Your buddy is a moron! How about we put 100% of the responsibility on the POS that broke into the car

Guns kill people
Spoons make people fat
Pencils make people do bad on the SAT

Are they being left in the car because businesses are refusing to let guns on the premises?
If we are doing this argument, does this transfer liability to the businesses as well?
If I go to work in a bad area and my office refuses to let me be strapped, gun may stay in the car. If the gun stays in the car, may get stolen if there is a break in or car theft.

No. However, they are not storing their firearms safely if they leave them in their vehicles overnight.

That your buddy is a fricking retard.
These people that think guns are not inanimate objects and capable of walking around by themselves and killing people without a human being the catalyst are mentally ill.

Where do you draw the line? What if their house was broken into and the gun was on the table? Hidden in a drawer? Gun safe?
At what level is the criminal 100% responsible?
