Wasn't too long ago they won the Orange Bowl. They should have capitalized on the momentum and invested more in the program. Who know where they would be now if they had

Because you care more about football than their administration and alumni do. I'm not saying this to make fun of you, by the way.

They were ecstatic with 7 wins and a bowl game.

Explain how Chan Gailey was fired then.

GT isn’t a flagship school. Also, playing in state doesn’t hold as much weight as it used to, now that every game is televised for everyone.

Revisionist history. He did well his first few years. Could never recruit kids on the back end to run the option.

I feel like when people talk about schools long past their glory days they always bring up Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee etc. However, GT is no slouch either. 740 wins, 4 national titles, etc. They sit in talent rich Atlanta and play in soft conference. Why have they been so irrelevant for so long?

Would be nice if Georgia had a little bit of in-state competition.

Players have to be able to read there - it's not Alabama where FB is #1

Technically, he retired (though by 2018 he was probably 1-2 years from getting canned because of our dumbass big money donors).

His Google bio is wrong. He’s on the morning sports talk show on 680 the fan and is now the color commentator for Tech football

I love PJ and the option, but just about any coach that would have replaced him was doomed to fail. It was such a massive rebuild and transformation

There’s failing, and then there’s the disaster that has been Geoff Collins.

I really thought Collins would do better.
