Why does Georgia Tech stink?

I feel like when people talk about schools long past their glory days they always bring up Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee etc. However, GT is no slouch either. 740 wins, 4 national titles, etc. They sit in talent rich Atlanta and play in soft conference. Why have they been so irrelevant for so long?

Would be nice if Georgia had a little bit of in-state competition.

1. They have real academic standards
2. You have to take calculus
3. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing student population.

Administration downgraded football.

Would you rather be with the nerds at GT or the smoking hot rich girls at UGA?

auburn, florida state, and clemson all basically count as in state competition. tech sucking arse is probably the most key though for atlanta. but uga has been fine in atlanta for decades.

Not sure I buy that. Sure those are power programs who can take in-state talent. But being a flagship in-state school holds major weight.

Neither the administration nor the student body/alumni(aside from the ones in their mid-60's & older) give enough of a frick about football for them to ever be relevant again.

Administration doesn’t care about football. They were ecstatic with 7 wins and a bowl game. That’s all GT really cares to be.

The city of Atlanta has more than enough young college aged females running around for that to not be much of an impediment if Tech was actually trying to win.

Tech is not the flagship university in the state of Georgia. It's not even the 2nd highest in terms of enrollment. Both GA.State and Kennesaw State have more students than Tech

GT alumni have one of the highest percentages for being millionaires and Atlanta isn’t exactly starving for hot female talent. I say they do just fine

Academics are not as tough as they act like. I’ve sent 6 athletes there. Three were C students who were able to make it through easily.

Georgia Tech going to a basketball national championship game is one of the more random sports things to ever happen

The nerds with what they will make will become very attractive to the hot girls in Athens.

Now it is. A decade before that run they were a legit program under Cremins. Total shitshow what that athletic department went from in the 90s and early 2000s to now.
