Podnuh in high school only drove minivans. They were cheap and abundant. His parents wouldn’t help him buy vehicles so he’d take a few hundred to the used car lot and drive off in a shaggin wagon. When it would break down, most of the time it would cost more than it was worth so he would leave them and buy a new one. Did that all through HS and into college.

Walked to school. Wasn't far (three blocks in a small country town in Rapides Parish) and we were too poor to own two cars. Had one car and dad drove it to work.

Walked, rode my bike or rode the bus until I was old enough to drive. Single parent household and mom’s work started before school started. I was too ugly for the child molesters to try to snatch me.

I was kindergarten age with the matador, and didn't ride too many times in that before it was junked. The rest were from then through the time I started driving. I guess when you drive pieces of shite, you end up having lots of vehicles though. I think the s10 was the only new one, bought in 87 and it probably stuck around 20 years. I learned to drive stick in that. First learned to drive in the astro.

V8. White leather. Had an actual clock in the wood dash. I loved this car.
