I actually don't think he gets enough love on here
Feels like many are sleeping on him. He is going to eat this yr
I've also been very impressed with brian thomas.
Loved nabers as a recruit and he is probably my favorite receiver.

I agree, he has looked great at practice so far and I think he’ll have a break out year this season!

If Nabers is commanding the slot (which it appears he has) where does that leave Bech? He’s doesn’t really have the long speed or athleticism to play on the outside so it will be interesting to see where Kelly fits him in.
Sounds like they will be in 12 personnel a bunch and bech with be the 2nd tight end with mashburn as the blocker. I'm sure they will flex him out. He will also chip then before going out to his route.
Imo he will also rotate in at receiver.

Wait…what did I miss? I thought we won the natty with Joe Burrow last season?
I know I had a terrible nightmare about 2 horrible seasons. In it we lost our starting QB twice, coaching staff fell apart and lost the locker room, some of the top players opted out of the season, and worst of all, was some of the worst LSU defense I ever witnessed??… glad I woke up from that one

Boutte, Bech and Nabers are about to wreck some defenses if they have a OL and QB capable enough which I think we do on both accounts. We may not be stars at either position but even an average OL with an average SEC starting QB should do well with the weapons they have. Boutte alone is almost uncover-able but add Bech’s pure strength and route running underneath and Nabers ability to make plays downfield should be very tough to stop. I love Jaray Jenkins and he’s a very solid WR but I think he gets passed pretty quickly by those 2 as the starting WR group with Boutte. This isn’t even talking about Brian Thomas, the most physically dominant WR we have with his size, speed and strength.

He looks almost exactly like chase.
I disagree and that’s not a knock on Nabers. He reminds me a lot of Early Doucet. Very shifty and can catch everything.

Playing TE or backing up the guys ahead of him at WR

Maybe a little Early Doucet in him ?

Lol if you believe Bech is taking a back seat to anyone, you don’t know squat about that dude. I don’t care what you call it but he’s going to be a WR this year, not a TE. We have enough there to make that position what it’s supposed to be without Bech.
The only guy that will have significantly more playing time and yards than every other guy is Boutte for obvious reasons. Bech/Nabers will likely be very close to the same stats and Jenkins/Thomas will be next. It’s quite possible that Boutte and Nabers end up close in stats also but it just depends on the offense ran and who the QB likes to target most. Who he ends up trusting.

Boutte will be on the field at all times.
Bech and Nabers will rotate in the slot
Jenkins and Thomas will rotate at the other wide out spot.
Bech and Nabers will rotate in the slot
Jenkins and Thomas will rotate at the other wide out spot.

It’s not 1990. None of those statements are correct.

I’m pretty sure this might be the case most of the time but Boutte will get spells for certain situations as will the rest of the WRs. They will also very likely move these guys around all over the field to create mismatches. At least I hope they do. All these guys are interchangeable within the offense on certain situations and when they see opportunities in a defense to attack.
Usually to start games you’ll see simple routes that create space and get a rhythm down/confidence up. As the game progresses, you get a little more complex, double moves, back shoulder passes, and routes crossing to try to cause the defense to make a mistake. Then you also start moving your players positions so the defense can’t get comfortable and create more issues when you see an obvious mismatch.
We did this to perfection in 2019 but you need to have the right personnel. Mix in the run game and the RBs as WRs, then a flexible TE and that is very tough to defend. I think we will run a version of this. If it all clicks and our QBs perform well in the offense, it’ll be hard to beat us this year. Our OL still has some work to do also. Get that right and it’ll be a good year.
