Now that that story is out the way lets get this Johnson drafted by the Mariners or Orioles so we can start another melt.

12 players drafted off of last years team with a possibility of 14. If that doesnt send a clear message to recruits/commits than I dont know what does. Come to LSU, win championships, get a degree and make yourself into a much more desirable prospect in 2-3 years.

Rangers would be hard pressed to come up with the $$$ to sign Brown. Having no second or third round picks results in a less than $10 million dollar bonus pool, with $7.7 allocated to the #1 spot. The best hope for Texas to have spendable pool is for Langford to sign for significantly less than slot and I have a hard time fathoming that happening. Furthermore, in picks 4 - 10 the Rangers did not draft pool bargains, so a vast majority of the remaining draft pool will be spent signing same. But, you never know.

Without paying attention to any of those tweets and just looking at the pool size the Rangers have and the players they drafted in the top 10 rounds, it is hard for me to find $1M for them to offer Jake Brown. With that and the fact that he supposedly had a really high number to begin with I think we will be fine to land him to campus. Rangers will have to get under slot value on each player included a decent size under slot from Wyatt Langford. If Langford signs for anywhere close to the $7.7M I think it is really tough to make numbers work.

To go a little further I just looked at who they drafted so far today and none of those picks are friendly to them either. They are HS kids, JUCO, and a couple college Jrs.
